Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird explained Canada’s preconditions for official recognition at a meeting with representatives of the opposition Syrian National Coalition in Morocco on Tuesday,the official said.
“He outlined the importance of rejecting extremism,the inclusion of minorities,and the importance of the role of women in a post-Assad era,” said the official,who did not want to be named.
On Wednesday,Mr. Baird will publicly spell out those preconditions during an address before the Friends of the Syrian People meeting —a gathering of more than 100 countries in Morocco’s Marrakesh working to bolster legitimate opposition to the Assad regime.

And with the political theatre called “Fiscal Cliff” , the U.S.Armed Forces will be decimated , underfunded , and undermaned , and ill-equipped . And yet we keep getting deeper in debt with $.42 of every dollar we borrow is going towards interest.
Combine that with the 20,000 U.S. military going back into Iraq right now because the country is too unstable .
Include the Afghanistani President’s statement that the U.S. is the main reason there is corruption in Afghanistan .
The world is upside-down.
Yet our President continues to fund our enemies , acknowledging that the main rebel support comes from Al Qaida ;
I thought that was in violation of the National Defense Act to support known terrorist organizations... I guess not.
Our friends no longer trust us ; our enemies no longer fear us .
