There not going to go in and take folks guns. First They’ll ban the manufacturer and sale of all semis and ammunition then if you get caught transporting one you’ll get 10 years federal.

So what are you saying -- that we should all just give up? Resistance is futile?

Yep. They have as much time as they need. If they do it a little bit at a time, nobody will even notice in 20 years.

I remember being outraged when seatbelts became mandatory...I never even notice it now, just seems like the way it’s always been. Same with smokefree bars.

Yes perfect example. I also remember when they first put in the seatbelt laws they swore you’d only get a friendly warning. Swore! Now it’s a $150.00 moving violation.

Also I live in Chicago and they have the countries largest blues fest. It always had a New Orleans atmosphere..tents...flags...hippie/biker fun attitude. .Homeland security they fenced in park and search everyone on way in. No tents..flags..camping gear ...its all sterile. Some faceless burocrat made a decree. And thus it was. People lined up in the hot sun waiting to be searched with nary a peep so the city can squeeze a few bucks. They take freedom not all at once...a little here then there.....

The excuse was homeland security...the reason was so you had to buy the cities $6.00 warm beer.

Windflier...I don’t know. When we lost the womans votes.....when woman were willing to live in a nanny state in exchange for a handful of birth control pills and some vauge, utopian world of windmills and “tolerance” we all lost.

Yep. And just cast your memory back to when you were a kid.
It’s not just seatbelts and Bluesfests.
I remember when people burned the leaves they raked up.
The outrage over a AWB won’t last...at least it won’t last with enough people to matter it never does. Before very long the next “New” thing comes along or it’s the season premier of whatever the hot show is.
People are herd animals so they’re mostly pretty content to stay in line as long as they’re mostly comfortable.

The PTB know this and like you said, they won’t do house to house searches. They’ll just outlaw them and if you get caught carrying one 10 years mandatory.
One by one.

Irish, we're being oppressed by a minority. Despite the unbelievable turn of events in this last election, most Americans still believe in this country and its founding covenants. As bad as things are, our people simply haven't been pushed far enough into the corner yet, to realize that it's almost "time".

I fear that the leftists currently in power will not let things be, and will use the next four years to achieve every one of their Communist goals for America. It's going to be a frightening time, and I believe our people are about to be put to an historic test.

We mustn't fail.

I think you are sorely overestimating how many people are willing to point a gun at a cop or a fed. That kind of resistance has largely been bread out of americans. You need to look to your local gang bangers to find that kind of hutzpah.

If that's true, then why are Americans buying guns and ammo in record numbers? Why the prepper phenomenon? Why is militia membership on the rise?

Those facts tend to indicate your opinion is faulty.

Were people buying big SUVs and choppers for the past decade because they are going to go off roading or join the hell’s angels? Hardly. Lots of guys in my office caught the shooting bug in the past couple of years. And why not...? It’s fun and a useful skill to have. But every one of these guys would pee their pants and hand over everything if the local swat team came a knockin’.

Prepping has more to do with riding out disasters than taking on the national guard.

Militia guys might as well strap on a bullseye and a GPS transponder. Uncle Fed has their number. Do you really think law enforcement are getting drones to monitor rush hour traffic? Just like the bearcats that DHS are giving away to local police, they come with weapons mounts.

Yeah, right. It's just a fad. The fact that we have a Communist sitting in the White House, who's shredding the Constitution daily, has nothing whatsoever to do with the unprecedented rise in gun sales.

It's just a fad. It'll pass. Sure.

For the typical suburban nascar dads...you’re damned skippy it’s a fad. If they don’t willingly and dutifully hand over their guns to the police when demanded, their doughy soccer mom wives will while hubby is at work.

You're right. Most people will meekly hand in their guns I agree. There will not be a battlefield with both sides lined up facing off. But of all gun owners, a small minority will resist. Not by standing their ground when the cops come to take their stash and haul them off to jail; they will go hunting.

The assorted loudmouth gun grabbers, talking heads, police chiefs who go along, and politicians who vote for it will be known. Intel will be disseminated about them, their families, friends and employees Someone will act on that information.

After Waco, the head of the New Mexico militia was asked by FBI or ATF agents if another Waco type event happened, would the militia guys go there and start shooting. The answer was no. Why would we when there are enough of you Federal SOBs right here? NO more Wacos have happened.

Think about this: if just one half of one percent of all gun owners go hardcore, that's 400,000 people. There are only 800,000 LEO's in the country and they don't know who all has weapons or who will use them. But we know who they are. Now add supporters of gun owners. They may feel impotent to fight physically, but they will help with money, protesting, intel, safe houses and in other ways. And as the government tightens the noose, they will create more support for the gun owners.

That's your consideration only. Something is driving gun sales, and it's not because it's suddenly 'cool' to have badass guns.

I don't know how someone who regularly reads at this site fails to see the connection between the burgeoning fascist state, and the consequent rise in firearms sales across the country. It's a predictable human reaction to encroaching tyranny.

Secondly, we're never going to arrive at the stage where the police come knocking at your door for your guns. The country would erupt in violent revolution if such an edict were ever issued.

Fair enough. Of course I can equally say the same on your opinion.

Oh I see it. Saw it a decade ago and was critical of it here when the final frame work for this police state was being built with reckless abandon. But it was a stoning offense here to speak ill of it or lord god gw bush.

Secondly, we're never going to arrive at the stage where the police come knocking at your door for your guns. The country would erupt in violent revolution if such an edict were ever issued.

You're right about the first part. There won't be any knock on the door. That is sooo 1930's Germany. You'll get a flash bang shot thru your window, your doors smashed in and 15 high school wrestling team washouts charging in, pulling you and your wife out of bed and holding sub-machine guns to your heads while screaming "search warrant!"

I hope you're right about the last part, but I've found that you rarely lose taking the under when betting on how boobus americanus of corn syrup nation will react.

An EO banning guns would be his perfect excuse for also issuing martial law, just as a “precaution”. They will go hand in hand and those defying the martial law or carrying weapons will be detained, indefinitely.

Alright. Enough. I know you're just in a foul mood. Aren't we all.

We both know that there isn't enough manpower in the entire fedgov and every state agency to pull off what you describe above. It wouldn't take but a few such incidents to spark a general rebellion, and the tyranny would be broken within the week.

Unless the Communists can slowly and ever so gradually coax our guns out of our hands, they don't stand a chance of ever disarming us. It can't be done through brute force without causing a reaction of immense proportions, which they do not have the power to contain or resist.
