Which one was it that thought a barrel shroud was a shoulder thing that goes up?

I have written a major essay, title: “Dear Mr. Security Agent: a letter to law enforcement.”

Everything I’ve written over the past decade, including four novels, has been leading up to that essay. I’ll send it out after the new year.

If the military does not refuse its orders from the Utopians, then the effort to confiscate firearms from the public will result in a civil war over the 2nd amendment

The "shot heard 'round the world" was about the confiscation of guns

...Utopians, perfect name for these fascists

A national gun registration list in 2012-13 is not needed. Data-mining will reveal who owns what, unless you never used a credit card to purchase an ammo mag, rifle sight, case of ammo, etc.

They don’t need you to fill out a registration form saying you own an AR or AK. They will know in two seconds, by your credit card history.

Utopians always cause the worst genocides, because they are convinced they are justified in forcing their vision on an entire society.

Your blood should run cold when our masters tell us we must be disarmed in the name of “public safety.”

During the French Revolution’s “Great Terror,” it was the “Committee of Public Safety” that sent tens of thousands to the guillotine without even a pretense at a trial.

In Turkey, German, the USSR, China etc, gun control / confiscation was always sold as promoting “public safety.”

Ask the Armenians, Jews, Kulaks, “landlords” etc how it worked out, safety-wise.

30 round P-Mag is now $60.00 each on the private market! Good luck with that $500.00 buy back.

But look at our Texas state board ..... and btw, this will not last very long. Demand will bring more mags and weapons to market. And look for the good-quality mags discussed by our fellow Texans in some detail, esp. the Izzy-manufactured ones. Not owning an AR type, I'm not participating in that discussion, but you might be interested.

*** in the republik of illinois we have the foid card. lucky us. ***

True, but having a FOID Card doesn't necessarily mean the Card holder owns or 'possesses' a firearm. I've known a few folks who have or had FOID Cards but didn't own a firearm. They'd rent a gun when they went to a range, used a friends gun, or 'planned' to buy a gun but never did. But granted it does give the Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei) a place to start looking.

an aside: I have a BATF C&R License so I've been in the G's database for a long time anyway. So for me our STOO-PID IL FOID Card is kinda moot.

This is why I never joined the NRA. I suspect that the government has the NRA membership list and will go after them first.

And why I never applied for a CHL or took a course, and why I don't hang around gun shops or ranges, where the ATF slugs lurk.

If I showed up at a range with something interesting like a Steyr precision rifle or even an SVD, much less a .50-cal. turnbolt, my license plate would be over at ATF before you can say "sic 'em, Dan-O!"

The words of Tench Coxe...

Congress have no power to disarm
the militia. Their swords,
and every other terrible implement of the soldier,
are the birth-right of an American …
the unlimited power of the sword is not in
the hands of either the federal or state governments,
but, where I trust in God
it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.

I live in Illinois but before I quit smoking about 5 years ago, bought all my cigarettes in Missouri, where the tax makes them much cheaper. I was warned by a store clerk, that I'd better pay cash as Visa, M.C. and AMEX were reporting Illinois residents to Illinois Revenue all tobacco and liquor purchases.

About 10 years ago, I received a form at tax time from Illinois, wanting me to voluntarily report all of my out of state purchases of those products, I filed it in the round file and never heard any more about it.

Big brother is definitely watching.

Feinstein also said that that former President Bill Clinton had volunteered, on a phone call, to help her get a new gun law passed.

“[Clinton] was talking about the battle back in 1993 with the bill that, interestingly enough, was introduced and passed within the year [of] 1993 and went into effect in 1994,” she said. “And, of course, he was president and the White House came alive and was very very helpful in enabling the passage of that bill both in the senate and in the House. So, to have him part of the team again is really quote special for us.”

DiFi was around then, and remembers what happened to Jack Brooks of Texas after Slick Willie pleaded and pleaded and armtwisted to get the Midnight Basketball and Gun-Ban Bill out of Brooks's committee .... just letting it sort of slide out w/o any fingerprints, to reduce the political risk.

Brooks's constituents pounded so much sand up his ass, it was still coming out his nose when he died.

As another Democrat once noticed long ago ...... when the Clintons need you, they're really there for you.

Ask Jack Brooks. And while you're at it, ask Bart Stupak and all the rest of the "moderate" Democrats who got used by Pelosi and Reid and The _Resident. Burned up like cigarettes, to get their bills through. Think about that, DiFi.

Back then, there were signs at the Mississippi river crossings, on the Illinois side that all Illinois residents were required to report out of state purchases of tobacco and liquor products, a sign that was hugely ignored. It’s no longer even there.

I have NEVER used a credit card for any purchase that might concern the thugs in our White House or in Congress. I am a member of the NRA and of a local gun club, but that doesn't tell anything about number of caliber. BTW, I own a bolt action .22LR rifle that I will regretfully sell for $500 at gunpoint only. If they want anything else, they can start with my ammo. The discussion will not be friendly.

There won't be a murder weapon left in the country for use in a prosecution.

There won't be a prosecutor left to prosecute the prosecutions.

It hasn't been fashionable, in the last 40 years, to dwell on the Revolutionary War's patriotic "cowboys", who took irregular violence to the Tories and British by stealth and opportunistic attacks.

It was thanks to them and the Militia that General Gage and other British commanders were largely confined to big towns or, on campaign, to their camps. It was worth their lives to take a pee in the woods.

“These people are exactly the reason for the Constitution. They are the very people our founders feared.”

+++++++

“Dad, while you were taking pictures after we had lunch, Mr. Mann was telling me about what happened to him during the war.” Henry and his father were down in the workshop, where Henry was cleaning his guns. Walter Bowman looked up at his son.

“Hm.” Walter had never heard of Irwin Mann talking about that part of his past.

“He was telling me about how the police came and took him and his wife away, and he never saw her or any of his family again. He said that Hitler killed six million Jews like him, and would have killed all of them if the Americans hadn’t fought against the Germans and beat them.”

“That’s probably true.”

“He talked about how none of them had any way to fight back. He said first the police took away the guns that were like the ones the soldiers used, then they took away ALL their guns. He said he hoped I was always a good shot with as many kinds of guns as possible, in case the same thing ever happened here.” Henry looked very upset. “Dad, I love shooting, but I don’t want to kill anyone. Could something like what happened in Germany ever happen here?” he asked.

Walter Bowman, the history teacher, looked his son in the eye. Want to take this question for me, Uncle Cam? he said silently. Finally he answered.

“It probably won’t happen here,” he said, and mentally added the word again. “I certainly pray that it doesn’t. We have a nation with the kind of freedoms that people in most other countries can only dream of. But to answer your question accurately, yes, it could happen here.” And it killed your uncle.

“There are always men who want more and more power, and history has shown us that these kind of men will take all they can from the people they control. Sometimes they are finally stopped when the people fight back. Sometimes the people don’t fight back, and they slowly lose their freedoms until it’s too late.

On second thought, I’m sticking with “...the cost of it would double, at least, the national debt.”

Remember, this is a federal government program we’re talking about here. When you factor in the cost of pork, graft, corruption and who knows how many new government agencies with all the trappings to carry out the mandate, your $50,000 per gun sounds a tad on the conservative side as an estimate.

At any rate, DiFi’s just flapping her gums. Her legislation would never pass, even in the Senate but it’s been an amusing topic of discussion.

Tell me all about this proposed "national program" to which you are referring.

What other than a Federal program would it take to put an armed police officer in every school?

The NRA is no friend to liberty. Given Sandy Hook, expect to see a revival of their support for the Our Lady of Peace Act. They are also on record having supported limiting magazine sizes (NRA Director says five rounds is enough).

"The National Rifle Association has been in support of workable, enforceable gun control legislation since its very inception in 1871." — NRA Executive Vice President Franklin L. Orth, NRA's American Rifleman Magazine, March 1968, P. 22

As we saw with FIST, the government willfully violates the law to use computerized background checks as equivalent to gun registration. The NRA continues to support background checks. As far as I am concerned, a background check is equivalent to national registration. So is the membership list. So is posting on this thread. Take your head out of your butt and get real.
