Between 200,000 and 400,000 Americans die from obesity every year. Wouldn’t gov’t food control be more effective than gov’t gun control?

How about the central socialist government stay the hell out of our lives completely?

Stop redesigning our automobiles.

Stop pedestalizing homosexuals, lesbians and other assorted altered sexes.

Secure our nation’s borders before constructing schools, infranstructures and gigantic American embassies in middle eastern countries.

Eliminate most of the agencies of the intrusive central government.

Stop talking about stupid ideas like statehood for the District of Columbia.

Impeach Obama before Washington begins to resemble Madrid in 1936.

The very reason for the 2nd amendment to the Constitution is to insure that the state does not have a monopoly on legitimate violence.

Power comes from the muzzle of a gun.

He wants the Government to have ALL the power. Thought he was American.

Gentlemen,

You assume that this mental midget, along with the likes of Barry, the Marxist faggot, Obama, Nutsy Pelousy, Reid, Schumer, Bloomberg, and the rest of the progressive cabal have a clear understanding of the purpose of our founding.

It should scare the living daylights out of every common-sense-thinking American that there exist “Representatives” and Senators in our government who are boldly and openly forsaking their oath of office. They all swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, and guess what? They, themselves, are the enemies. They are the ones who are in open revolt against the very ideals ensconced in our founding documents.

Why it is that our military and the People aren’t in open revolt calling for the imprisonment and/or execution of these usurpers is beyond my understanding. Like the bumper sticker says, “Our Founding Fathers would be shooting by now.”

What’s “legitimate” violence? Would that include the Crips & Bloods and Latin Kings?

Nadler added. "One of the definitions of a nation state is that the state has a monopoly on legitimate violence. [...]"

Does anyone know where in our Constitution I can find this interesting definition which Nadler cites? Or is it maybe a quote from Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, or Thomas Paine? Is Nadler claiming that, per definitionem the United States does not fulfill the criteria for being a nation-state? Well, what are we then?

To me, it is amazing how these politicians can open their mouths before thinking through what they are going to say, and considering whether it conforms with Aristotelian logic.

Regards,

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said only the federal government should have “high-capacity” gun magazines and that the “state ought to have a monopoly on legitimate violence.”

TREASON. Pre-meditated agitprop by a politician against the citizens of the U.S.A. by subversion of the constitution.

Someone should ask Nadler that if he can't control what he puts into his own mouth, how he can possibly think that he can control the behavior of everyone else.

Nadler's beliefs regarding violence are entirely German and Eastern European. These are not in the American tradition.

Just like to say the Nazis eventually used those beliefs to murder the Jews.

That makes Nadler's arguments just so much garbage ~ the man has a diseased mind. He should be locked up for his own good.

This “state monopoly on legitimate violence” business is straight out of Prussian political theory of the 19th century. Remember, they invented the modern nation-state. They also invented government-run schools.

Oh, sorry... not the 19th century. I missed it by 19 years. The concept, explicitly articulated, is attributed to Max Weber in his 1919 book Politics as a Vocation.

A government is only as moral and upright as the people who run it on a day-to-day basis. Unfortunately, our government seems replete with evil people and tyranny has resulted. Our government no longer has the moral standing to create law, let alone define “legitimate violence”. An adequately armed public is the only check-and-balance left on the government because they have corrupted politics and the system for conducting elections. We are down to our LAST line of defense against an evil government. We simply cannot allow them to neutralize an armed citizenry as well or most of us will become slaves to the government. Live free or die. . . .
