CONCORD, Mass. (AP) — A new ban on the sales of single-serving plastic water bottles has taken effect in Concord.

The ban began Tuesday and follows an April vote by Town Meeting, which made historic Concord one of the first communities in the nation to make the bottles illegal.

This ban doesn’t cover soda bottles. Go figure.

And this in the cradle of liberty.

We have municipal recycling. It appeases the envirowhackoes. No one cares if you just pitch everything in one container.

I refuse to spend one iota of effort on recycling. If the material is worth anything, then someone will pay me for it, and do all the work.

They want to income tax the rent homeowners don’t have to pay. I wonder when we start getting income taxed for the value of the recycling we don’t recycle.

Rain barrels are banned in some areas of the dry western states.

TApparently they are going to be banned in the near future in Illinois.

maybe there are squads of recycling Nazis who go through people’s garbage to MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS IN ORDER!!!

How are they going to patrol the proper disposal of the energy-saving lightbulbs when they burn out or break?

Tell me this I satire. If not, America is not what it used to be because they would have run the politicians out of office.

rather self-defeating. In NE Ohio residents of towns served by the Metro sewer district can get a break on their sewer fees by using rain barrels, creating "rain gardens" and so forth. The less runoff, the less water the storm sewers deliver to the treatment plants. They know enough to realize the ovbvious fact that all runoff does not end up in rivers.

Many years ago General Motors did a research on where the rubber from tires went as tires wore down. They could not find a trace of rubber on the side of the road.
One would think that with all the millions of tires rolling down the road there should huge mounds of rubber dust piled up but there was none.

Re: recycling

Someone noticed that a local trash pick up service dumped the recyclables into the regular trash when the truck got to the trash service center.

An exemption is allowed during emergencies.

A manufacturer should create a line of bottled water labelled "Emergency H2.O" for everyday use.

House shoes made in China have a marvelous product they use for the soles. It completely disintegrates after a few months.

I have had several pairs with nice uppers — leather and padding. But the soles just dissolved within a year.

Now, I wear an old pair of flipflops I bought for a $buck about 35 years ago. The rubber is still cushiony.

This stuff just burns my ass.

I live in the next town over from Concord, and with all the problems in this state, the death of industry, etc., legislators feel that this plastic water bottle crap and digital billboards telling you not to wear earphones while driving just makes me crazy.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I drive through there on my way to work. It kills me to see the anti-war liberal turds marching next to a famous Minuteman scupture. All right up the street from this:

They HAVE lost their way. It is a liberal swamp there.

The garbage collectors in Seattle are empowered to issue citations to business who commit the high crime of “failure to recycle.” It’s just a matter of time.

“How about thirst?”

Carry an empty plastic soda container, or two or more, filled with cool water. I do.

I gulp that down as I am driving around and even carry it into the supermarket. Water in Panama is super clean. No need to purchase water when I can get it for fee out of my faucets.

The only exception would be San Diego as much as a love that city, but it does have the nastiest tasting water in the world.

“TApparently they are going to be banned in the near future in Illinois.”

You need to get off your butt, quit complaining, and start doing something now.

Quadruple Nonsense!
1 Plastics decay in a matter of 3-4 hundred years.
2 The earth does not care that some of its constituent chemicals are in one form or another. If you care that there is plastic around you, clean it up. If at any point in time it becomes more expensive to deal with plastic than the benefit of having it, humans will stop using it. Basic economics.
3 We are building newer generations of plastics that decay far quicker, more suitable for uses that do not require long term storage.
4 How did we ever live before toilets? Should we revert to that also?
