My plans to get a new car ended on election night. I knew new taxes were on the way (and bad times).
LMAO, don't forget, they re-elected cry baby Boehner, so we've got more of the same to look forward to and I'd say you can count on the GOP caving, guaranteed, no doubt about it.
Remember this as well.
When the economy crashes, “the rich” will be defined as anyone that owns ANYTHING, and you will be a target of the EBTombies.
I have been proactive about this crap ever since the election. I cancelled my health insurance (I am also covered by my wife’s insurance) and I will cancel my cell phone ($50 a month) this month when contract ends (got a prepaid cell for $85 that should last me a year (1200 minutes).
We also cancelled Christmas for ourselves to save money. Fact is, we knew we would be getting hit for around $3800, so we planned ahead. I feel bad for those who are getting dinged that didn’t vote for obama. The others can go to hell for all I care.
The “rich” is one of those terms that can mean anything now. And it is ALWAYS not them. Truth is, the “rich” is everyone with a job. Anytime they raise taxes on the “rich”, if you have a job, you pay.
Yeah - but at least Romney didn’t get a tax cut.

Only thing I know for sure is that if democraps add to their seats in congress in 2014, GOP caving will be irrelevant.
Do not forget GOP did NOT cave on Obamacate. It did not get a single GOP vote. But the democraps had majorities in both Senate & House plus the ONE in WH. If 2014 gives them majority in the House, the fiscal cliff will be remembered as the good old days.

I went to the DUmp and that thread is locked. I noticed there are a lot of n00bs (20 or less postings) and most have probably been tombstoned.
I feel like I took a bath in diesel engine oil reading that thread. Lots of DUmmies calling n00bs as FReepers. Some were almost the same names as FReepers.
One reply noted that "Rush just read this thread on live on his show" or something similar. If Rush can't explain this to them, we know why 0 bummer won reelection. But, we talking about DUmmies.

That's not true at all. I'm here in the upper middle class Philly burbs which went for Obama. I know lots of folks who make 2 and 4 hundred thousand. They're getting hammered in this tax increase. There is a phaseout on deductions we can take.
You know who's going to get hurt by this new tax increase? First, the charities. Second, the landscapers and cleaning ladies. Third, the homebuilders and realtors - it won't pay for these folks to be living in expensive homes with high property taxes.
I don't generally favor any tax increase because the government will squander it. However, the so called rich in the Northeast pay more than their share of taxes already. Meanwhile, lots of folks who will really feel the pinch with the SS tax increase aren't paying much, if anything, in federal income taxes. Yet, they reap lots of benefits, unlike the folks who are making between 200 and 400 thousand, who get bupkis from the government or college financial aid offices.
OK, I LOL'ed so loud that I woke the dog from her snoring sleep. They can be glad they don't see the disrespect I have for "not my president".

That is exactly what happened today to my friend. The salesman called him to consummate the deal on a new CRV for my friend's wife.
He told the salesman 'sorry' and why.
Also turned down a deal on a DirectTV upgrade today.
