Individuals seeking a permit to buy firearms in New Jersey would have to submit results of a psychological evaluation before they could buy a gun, under a bill introduced yesterday in the Legislature by West New York Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez.

I’ll go with a simple test on the Constitution designed by Mark Levin. That’ll knock out 99% of the psychos and low information, believe anything idiots right off the bat.
Why not just use a Mr. 8-ball? It has all the reliability of a “psychological test” .
I would require a psych test for anyone stupid enough to be a liberal rat.
If they required psychological evaluation for every politician in the US, we would find 2/3 failed.

Better yet, how abotu psych evals doen by physicians of the people’s choosing so that those runnign for government iwll have NO influence over the outcome (but hte peopel of course will have influence abotu how the evaluation turns out- just like the government is proposing to do to us- They will hire their own lackey physicians who will be obvious anti-gun nuts who will show extreme bias towards guns and htose hwo own them
Where the HELL is the NRA on this issue? NY is proposing to VIOLATE the constitution of the united states by forcing everyone to undergo a mental health evaluation if they want to own a gun, and NY’ers will be forced to see physicians who will obviously be paid by cuomo’s office to perform the evaluations? What hte hell?
I thought qwhen I first read the article ‘Niope- no way this will pass the house-’ but then at end of article I see that the ‘republicans’ are mostly onboard this too and that it’s likely to pass?
We are VERY quickly moving towards a socialist nation and cuomo is pushing us htere in a big hurry- and he’s goign to likely run and win in the 2016 election because he is already beginning to promise thsoe suckling off the gove3rnment’s teet- that they will get more if he’s around to make sure they do-
I keep seeing lots of peopel claiming that there’s no way the govenrtment is goign to take hgteir guns away- that they are goign to fight rather than relinquish- however, I see NO organized effort to resist what NY is proposing to do- How far is too far? Where the hell is the NRA? Better Idea:
Psychological evaluation by independent, no-partisan professionals for all candidates running for political office and annual evaluations for all elected officials currently in office - up to and including the president.
With results to be made immediately available to the public.
look at the map - outlying Counties are Red - plus the hill country is too gorgeous to leave entirely to the tree huggers....someone needs to thin the deer herd and fill the freezer
And who is going to review all these tests? At what point does psychological fitness become subjective? What other constitutional rights are competence-tested?
This is a “cure” that’s far worse than its disease.

That’s not hte solution (well it’s an obvious no brainer ot lock away TRULY insane people- however, what cuomo is proposing is that everyone who owns a gun be given mental health evaluations apparently so the governemtn can then ‘legally take away their firearms because the evalution determiend that the gun owners ‘might pose a risk’ to society’
cuomo’s lawyers (I’m assuming it was his lawyers, as he’s not smart enouygh himself to coem up with hte idea) foudn a major loophole in the constitution because hte constitution did not specifically state that even peopel with mental problems shall not have hteir rights infringed upon, sand they are now succesfully no doubt, goign to exploit htis oversight
Either the gun owners of NY are goign to have to form a coalition and go out in force and declare that they will NOT be subjected to uncosntitutional evaluations and gun restrictions, OR, they ARE goign to lose hteir rights to own guns- it’s coming NY- You are abotu to lose your right to own a gun, and worse yet, you will now be subjected to mental health evaluations agaisnt your will which you will no doubt fail per order of the govenrment of NY.
VT or NH used to have a motto they lived by that aid ‘live free or die’, but I see that is no longer a motto that they live by- Theey shioudl just change hteirm otto to ‘Everyone, please, just do what the government tells you, or die’
Better yet - make it a prerequisite for politicians before they can run; each and every time...

I used to hunt around the Manville area 55 years ago. Cannot even shoot an air rifle there now with out drawing the ire of some home owner.
