WASHINGTON -- Retired Gen. Colin Powell offered a vigorous defense of Chuck Hagel’s nomination as the next Defense secretary, even as the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee added questions about Hagel’s temperament to lawmakers’ other concerns about the nominee, particularly his position on Israel.

Powell, former secretary of State to President George W. Bush and a widely respected member of the GOP, had voiced strong support for Hagel shortly after President Obama named the former Nebraska senator as his choice to replace Leon E. Panetta. On Sunday, Powell spelled out further why he regards Hagel as “superbly qualified” for the job.

This pathetic poseur certainly gets his share of face time. He has been widely mistaken for someone whose opinion matters.

Gee, but the article informs us that Colin is a “widely-respected member of the GOP”... (Hahaha!). (Ps: its blatant falsification for leftist political agendae tn the socalled “news reporting” that’s why this huge monopoly media outlet is spiraling downwards. People eventually wake. Up to the propaganda and reject it.

Whatever credibility Powell ever had, has long since disappeared.

This Colon cancer needs to be excised from the GOP.

It is curious how Obama destroys everything he touches. Colin Powell used to be a respected member of the GOP, but that was before he voted for Obama the first time. Now Powell has thrown away the last bit of credibility that he had with Republicans and the Democrats will never trust him.
He has nothing left. Obama scores again.

Top of the page on Breitbart is Powell saying "GOP Looks Down on Minorities".

Haven't read it yet, but I wasn't surprised to see the LAT's headline take.

In 1996, I drove a half hour to San Bernardino for a book signing of MY AMERICAN JOURNEY. That sucker is now going on ebay.

More from the widely respected member of the GOP:

"Powell defends Clinton on Benghazi: ‘You can’t keep everything from happening’"
Former Secretary of State Gen. Colin Powell defended current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's handling of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, saying it could've happened under anyone's watch. "I think she's had a distinguished record,"

not only is he an embarrassment to the GOP. He's an embarrassment to himself. You think someone in his family would put a rope on him and shut him up already

Ugh.

And to think up until now, I actually was partly in support of Chuck Hagel.

Guess that’s history.

Just curious: has Colin Powell expressed publicly any anti-Israel sentiments?

I can understand that. And to think how much I had wished he had run for President at one time. Seems a long long time ago.

>> Colin Powell offers strong defense of Chuck Hagel's nomination <<

In other words, one closet Democrat offers strong defense of another closet Democrat.

>> I was beyond shocked when I saw Powell and Farrakhan together. What a viper. What a Benedict Arnold. <<

I wasn't. I never trusted Colin to begin with. Can't really compare him to Benedict Arnold either, Arnold was a very effective American general until he switched sides. Colin is more along the lines of Fidel Castro or the Muslim Brotherhood.

Maybe by the mainstream media. I never respected him, and thought it was a bad choice when Bush selected him as Secretary of State. I think he only tapped him for the job to appease the mainstream media drooling over the thought of "President Powell"
