Obama: Some Gun Control Measures 'I Can Accomplish Through Executive Action'
The Weekly Standard ^ | 1/14/13 | Daniel Halper

Posted on 01/14/2013 9:45:07 AM PST by Nachum

"My understanding is the vice president's going to provide a range of steps that we can take to reduce gun violence," said Obama. "Some of them will require legislation, some of them I can accomplish through executive action. And so I will be reviewing those today, and as I said, I will speak in more detail to what we're going to go ahead and propose later in the week.

There is no law against any amount of ammunition or components you can own. Not here in Texas anyway.

Wal Mart will just become the “company store” for welfare recipients if they do that. A lot of people have already started to avoid shopping there.

All components can be manufactured from scratch. It will only be a matter of time before the basement cottage industries spring up, nation wide. Even fully forming cases from raw cartridge brass is well within the ability of properly equipped small workshops. It’s only large scale production that is cost prohibitive. Instead of a few large industrial players with high volume, there will be tens of thousands of low volume small players. Meanwhile, funds that could have been otherwise put into the economy will be diverted to family defense purchases.

It already is. Why do you think Walmart supports Obama’s policies? They directly benefit from them.

The looney leftists need to look at Mexico’s ultra-strict gun laws - if they worked so well they wouldn’t have had over 100,000 murders in the last 6 years.

Gun control only punishes law-abiding citizens and these leftist idiots need to be pushed back. We need more guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans and not less - this is a true deterrent to criminals!

It's what the feds determine is considered hoarding, no joke and until Texas isn't part of the USA; you have those same laws there. They just haven't started the enforcement yet and Obama won't have any qualms about doing so.

There was a group of nut bags in Fairbanks, shooting their mouths off, thought they had an army ready to cause upheaval in the land. They busted them for hoarding of ammo supplies. I thought to bust them for such nonsense, the feds are really reaching.

It really bothers me too; before it's over with; they'll be able to get anybody for something they are doing wrong in their eyes and we will live in a police state like Solzhenitsyn talked about concerning the Soviet Union.

Are politicians(aholes) assuming the laws will be followed/enforced as well as the existing laws covering:
#1 Ownership of guns in New York, Chicago and other liberal Hellholes?
#2 Use of “illegal” Drugs?
#3 “Illegal”entry into the United States of America?
#4 Driving a vehicle without the necessary license and insurances?
#5 Voting without being a “Legal” living citizen?
#6 On ad Infinitum
#7 On ad nauseam
When and where politicians cease to be worthy is when they seize control!
Do the politicians understand that sometimes the people wake up? Is there another Rosa Parks that will lock & load and say “Hell No!”?

That’s because the “weeper of the House” is a suck up kiss a$$ to Obama. How the hell did he get re-nominated by Republicans?

>> Withhold federal funding for what? About the only good that came out of the SCOTUS Obamacare ruling is that there must be a nexus between the federal funds withheld and the reason for withholding the funds.

Good point, well taken.

Then I recommend ol’ Blue Lips withhold BATF enforcement funding and close BATF offices in any state that allows evil guns and magazines within its borders.

Likewise Glock, Sig, Benelli, FN, and a host of other guns made overseas at least in part.

He’ll be out to destroy the industry by breaking the supply chain. No grabbing necessary, just wreck resupply, regulate domestic production to death, and confiscate as convenient with minimal incidental impact.

He would be wise to review what happened in post-Katrina NOLA. Door to door confiscations started, but came to an abrupt halt. It wasn’t the civilians fighting back, it was - near as any outsider can tell - back rooms of LEO offices saying “stand down or bad things will commence”.

You don’t suppose the fix has been in from the beginning, do you?

Of course has. They have moved on every one of their issues the same way. They planned for it and this was the time.

“Barrow will be called in and be told to tow the Obama line.”

Barrow also voted against Obama/Boehner’s Fiscal Deal.

I’d normally agree with you, but in this case.... he may... be a decent guy. I’ll reserve judgement for now.

Hmm. I’d be interested in following up on that. Wonder if they were arrested because of their mouths, and then let go. I see no statute that they could be prosecuted on as far as hoarding. Now, threating to overthrow government or threating local people is different. They could be prosecuted for that. Curious...

I was walking around my neighborhood with my AR & my 45 on my hip while cruisers were driving around & not once did they imply anything that I was doing was out of line.
