President Obama says he plans to make public later this week the details of his plan to tighten firearms laws based on the findings of a White House task force he commissioned in the aftermath of the fatal Connecticut school shooting.
The task force was led by Vice President Joe Biden and held its final White House meeting Monday, talking with members of the House Democratic Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.
Obama said Monday he planned to meet with Biden to review the findings and will “vigorously pursue” the recommendations in the next few days.

The man is a bald faced liar. I don’t know how so many Americans could be fooled, but we FReepers knew all along that Obama was pro-abortion, pro-sodomy, and pro-gun control. It’s what leftists do. They lie when it serves the cause, and they ALWAYS want more power.
The Democrats have been anti-liberty, immoral statists for a long time. They didn’t suddenly change in 2008. The only difference between then and now is they’re operating in the open now. That means they think they have the upper hand, and maybe they do. We’ll see.

Its really difficult to take these pronouncements seriously. Think back to jobs creation etc. Its all a bunch of mouth w/ this guy. The only think he’s pursued w/ great energy is vacation time and golf.
I think the reason he gave Biden the lead on ‘gun control’ is b/c if it crashes and burns (likely) Joe is the fall guy. W/ Barry it all about him all the time. History will talk about the 8 yrs the presidency was all but vacant. Even after 8 yrs Barry can still be called unaccomplished.
The rub is, he doubts congress will pass anything, so I expect his executive orders will be the big stick (or gun) to eliminate rifles, magazines, register new guns sold, maybe register “assault” rifles already in the public, limit amount of ammo one may buy, tax ammo, send all buyers for a mental test, require a person take a gun course before being able to get a gun of any kind, buy a permit and have to renew it every year, etc., etc.. Just don't know how many of those restrictions he may go for.

I am hearing that the NRA is snubbing Gun Appreaciation Day and telling members of congress to boycott it. Are any of you hearing similar things?

There’s a big difference between an EO and a proposal; an EO would’ve been done already, but what we see here is him saying he’s gonna do a PROPOSAL not an ORDER.
