I get and second his point.
Too many gun owners will not admit thereto without veiling the fact in a lame overused embarrassing joke about “lost ‘em all in a boating accident”.
They’re the people who, when needed to stand up and fight, will quietly excuse themselves due to some subsequent engagement.
Bugs the hell outta me here on FR.
You'd think with all the damn "boating accidents" that FR consisted of nothing but Kennedys.
Your prior rants on this topic were my inspiration.
I’m not sure if you’re recognizing the meaning behind the lost em all in a boating accident phrase. It’s not an attempt to disengage from supporting the 2nd Amendment by any means.
You know, the “guns in the lake” thing doesn’t bother me at all... I just take it as it was meant to be taken.
It’s a joke, son. J-O-K-E, Joke.
Lighten up, Francis. Or do you think we have to walk around all long-faced every hour of every day to be True Believing conservatives?
The stuff you read into it is asinine. If I have to share a foxhole with anyone, I don’t want it to be a sourpuss, tell you what.
Any number of us use the “tragic canoe accident” joke but that is what it is - a joke.
If you haven’t seen the APCs that Homeland Security are spreading around our country you might want to look around.
If they come for our guns you will be overpowered.
The best suggestion I’ve heard was Glenn Beck’s view that if they come for your guns just say “No - please arrest me” - simply because you, individually, cannot resist but in the numbers that would have to be arrested, processed, detained, removed from their community positions would make the action untenable and arouse the population to fight the abuse.
If you start shooting at the LEOS in your driveway - you are going to lose so non-violent resistance is a better choice.
