Gun advocates say the boards might be one step in a broader school protection strategy. Teachers now have a new line of protection to shield their class from a shooter.
A Maryland armor manufacturer has developed bullet proof white boards that teachers can use while conducting class lessons — and during an emergency.
The boards are made of a state-of-the-art material called Dyneema, and can repel gun shots from handguns and shotguns — the types of weapons most commonly used in school shootings, said George Tunis, CEO of Hardwire, which created the boards.

When my wife was studying to be an elementary school teacher 25 years ago, she was repimanded for using the non-PC term “Black board”. “You may call it a chalk board but not a ‘black board’ “, she was advised.

I am happy to be 41, I must say. At least I made it over the hill and had the blessing of spending my younger years in a free country.
As I age I feel I don’t have as much to lose as if I was twenty...or one...or zero like my nephews. I wonder what their lives are going to hold for them.
Sadly what I have learned of western societies is that they seem to produce some of the very worst, most dishonest, despicable, lazy, self entitled, worthless people that I have ever seen.

Liberals would likely go so far as to mandate in the building code that schools must have bullet-proof panic rooms that can hold each classroom full of students.

If you are attempting to develop a correlation between a sophisticated space-based, multi-billion dollar, national (if not hemispheric) defense system (which, by the way I think is a brilliant concept) to a "suit of armor" made of Kevlar whiteboard for personal protection -- which it appears from your comment that you are -- I think you need a break from all this hysteria, my friend.

I got to thinking about it and really, it’s a brilliant idea. I can see all these school districts thinking, “we gotta do something” and ordering thousands of these. 100’s of thousands of these maybe.
So, I think I’m gonna buy stock in this company. And then dump it right before all these dumbasses realize they have been taken.
Why not just have robotic sentries armed with sticky foam guns?
