No one wants to say it but the Violence problem is isolated to the inner city Gubmint projects and the life long welfare recipients who dwell there. If the numbers from black on black, drug, and gang related murders were tossed out there wouldn’t be enough murders to make a good 30 minute news report.

So true. I live in a quiet, remote rural area, where most folks are armed, and guess what? There is no gun violence here. Zip, nada, none.

Guns are not the problem. All these psycho mass killers are public school educated liberals. Liberalism should be declared a mental illness and liberals should not be allowed to vote or own firearms.

I think that would solve the problem.

Kelly is allied with LaPierre/NRA, and so it appears Gayle Trotter who is also pro 2nd Amendment.

Kelly - husband of Rep Giffords - is on the side of controlling guns. If they are allied with the NRA then we are indeen in trouble.

Our new campaign will launch a national dialogue and raise funds to counter influence of the gun lobby.

We pay a price for defying God’s plan for mankind. Today’s ‘father figures’ are female; In the schools, daycare and at home. Unless that changes, the downward spiral continues..

David Kopel would be the only one worth listening to. Wayne LaPierre often does a poor job explaining the 2A viewpoint.

What Should America Do About Gun Violence?

First, stop incoherently separating it from other violence by using "gun" as an adjective: the victim bludgeoned to death with a length of pipe, the man stabbed through a major artery, or the woman beaten to death by an abusive "boyfriend's" fists are just as dead as the latest shooting fatality in Chicago.

Second, recognize that violence happens a lot less in places where a reasonable number of law abiding citizens are armed with firearms than in places where they are not.

How about making more .223 ammunition and more 30-round magazines for AR-15s available? That would help.

1. Nearly all gun violence is criminal on criminal. So nobody cares. Reinstitute the death penalty with swift trials and appeals, coupled with high standards on prosecutions, evidence and judges. It shouldn’t take more than 12-24 months to complete.

2. You cannot stop a madman through gun control. It’s a hairy problem, but front page media stories drive most nutjobs to copycat. Should we muzzle the press or can they restrain themselves? (they do it for Obama - how about for innocent lives?)

3. Let’s have Constitutional Carry for the rest of the situations.

Problem solved.

America should ban violence, period. Until violence is banned, we will have violence in our society. Let’s pass a law requiring compassion too. need I /s?

I would not agree that Kelly is aligned with the “pro-gun” side of the issue...

Everything about “their” organization is “gun control”, regulation/restrictions/infringements, anti-Second Amendment...

“What Should America Do About Gun Violence?”

Focus on mental health issues but they won’t because the constitution can be shredded faster if they focus on destroying the 2nd amendment with nonsense like calling guns “assault weapons” which is like calling cars “assault cars”. I mean you will never ever in a million years hear a liberal call a gun a “defense weapon” so let’s all call them “assault weapons” so people buy into this BS like they buy into the global warming - oh excuse me, I mean the “climate change” hoax.

“What should we do about gun violence?”

Gee, I dunno.
Maybe have the death penalty actually mean just that as it was a deterrent?
And then let us defend ourselves instead of dialing 911 and hoping they aren’t on a donut and coffee break on the far side of town?

Is it legal for Gabby Giffords to own a gun as her husband just testified ?

And even worse, why didn't Mrs. Giffords testify to this instead of her husband ?

Someone needs to ask the Senate Committee why they are having a gun hearing, when the FBI statistics show that each year, more people are murdered with sticks and bats, and more children die accidentally in pools.
