Panetta: Obama Absent Night of Benghazi Daniel Halper February 7, 2013 12:05 PM
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified this morning on Capitol Hill that President Barack Obama was absent the night four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:
Panetta said that Obama left operational details, including knowledge of what resources were available to help the Americans under siege, "up to us."
In fact, Panetta says that the night of 9/11, he did not communicate with a single person at the White House. The attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.
Panetta said that, save their 5 o'clock prescheduled meeting with the president the day of September 11, Obama did not call or communicate in anyway with the defense secretary that day. There were no calls about what was going on in Benghazi. He never called to check-in.
People don’t change. Obama never showed up for votes when he was a state senator. He was the most absent senator in the US senate. The man is lazy.
If this is true, I think it might finally take away the Teflon. I don’t see how he can get out of this one, particularly since everybody else bent over backwards to say how “involved” he was. The only thing they sort of said was that he went to bed (after the first attack was over, supposedly) and left early the next morning for Vegas.
But if he wasn’t even there and nobody knew where or how to reach him, and he didn’t even call in, I think it’s going to be very hard for even the most devoted fans to defend him.
That said, is this true? I didn’t see any comments about this among the posts on the live thread on the hearings.
(My theory has always been that he went to bed early, even before the first attack, and left strict orders not to be disturbed...and they were afraid to wake him.)
Clint Eastwood was dead-on with that “empty chair”...
No one there...
It’s kind of hard to reconcile what Axelrod said with what Panetta said. No?
And evil, very,very evil.
>>> Obama cites Benghazi phone call with national security team but no meeting
That was what I remembered.
He knew a situation developing in Benghazi, left someone(s) else in charge, continued Las Vegas fundrasing as scheduled, then as events got out of hand, sent Rice and his lapdogs to spread smear about a youtube video.
And all this time, none of those left in charge ever thought of keeping Obama up-to-the-minute informed. ???!!!!???!!
Why do I get the feeling that Panetta will be walking this back some time soon?
People on the left are starting to call for that. I gotta tell ya, I’d rather have Obama than Biden as president!
Night before last on the very left leaning Democracy Now, the guest was Daniel Ellsberg who was calling for Obama’s impeachment because of his “Systematic Assault on Constitution”.
Interesting times we live in. http://dialogic.blogspot.com/2013/02/democracy-now-daniel-ellsberg-ndaa.html
Or Ollie North.
Okay, Secret Service, where the hell was he?.........
Is that dweeb Zuckerburg sitting at the end of the table to _____’s right? I wouldn’t doubt it. One of the reasons I don’t use facebook.
As CinC, he can make such decision, some may disagree, but ‘Obama Not Present’ tells us what, exactly?
But, I'm just a nobody.
Funny, according to this guy, he knew all about it.
And no one said any different at the time...
I think I smell a little CYA going on.
Kind of makes you wonder what we are about to find out, doesn’t it?
Why, he was out skeet-golfing, of course.
Can’t help myself thinking if THIS all unfold Oct 11, 2012 !!!!
The stinking #$^&*#(!@
3:00AM phonecall and the TOTUS is AWOL....
