Makes you wonder if they are “testing” to see how this works.

Snowstorm is the “emergency” of today, justifying a travel ban,

what could it be next year?

[civil unrest]

What did we do before this storm? How did we survive all these years?

What’s next mandatory a/c purchases in hot summers?

This is unconstitutional (and retarded for those who own a 4x4 with chains).

What if you run a plowing business?

Get low on beer?

A year in jail sounds commensurate with the crime of driving on a snowy day! How about just tell everyone that if they go out and get stuck, no one will be sent to rescue them - at least that would encourage personal responsibility. If you are a conservative and live in Mass, what the hell is wrong with you?

Oh please...What is up with these people? I’m looking out my Massachusetts window right now...Color me unimpressed so far.

Here in Illinois/Wisconsin we heard snowmageddon thrown about, for what wouond up being a nasty batch of wintry mix (IL) and 16" of pwedy stuff, gracefully delivered (southern WI).

Hey folks. It's Wisconsin. It's winter. In the old days we called it a snow storm, and people prepared (chains, studded tires in the NE, stay at home, take your chances).

I lived in CT in my youth, and the ice storm in the early '70s (73?), the real deal in '78, a barrage of mid sized storms one after the other in '93-'94, all exceed most of what we had in recent years.

I think it is all about ratings, to get people to watch local news and weather stations, with their 4D-Meta-Doppler forecasts. The newspapers will find a big drift for the photo, and a story about an 80 year old who had a heart attack in her home and couldn't get help. Good grief, Buffalo gets this every year. It is New England; snow is no stranger to the Yankee.

LOL at the newly-minted libertarians who would expect the gubmint to come rescue them the moment they got stuck in a drift.

Geeze, I can remember my Dad driving us from New Jersey to Ohio on the PA Turnpike in a snow storm in the wee hours of the night. Probably 6” of snow, dark, no visibility but he was motivated. The trucks had all pulled over but Dad kept going. 2 wheel drive Chevy, probably a Bel-Air or Biscayne.

Screw these public nazis. Tell me I can’t do what I want to do.

"..There is about a QUARTER OF AN INCH TO A MAXIMUM OF JUST TWO - THREE INCHES OF SNOW..

What's up with up to 5000 National Guard troops being called in?

They're making it sound like Snowpocalyse.

It is about Democrats and RINOs accumulating POWER ...
not the accumulation of snow.

Maybe memories of what happened in Dec of 2007; then, a Fri afternoon, snow on the way; order given at 1 pm to send state workers etc home. MASSIVE traffic jams.

I was supposed to be at work by 6 pm. I left here at 3 pm
to travel 18 miles.

I got to work at 6:30 pm.

18 miles.

In better weather, I could get to Burlington VT (219 miles away) in that time. Anyway, schools let out. Work let out.
Malls (it was Dec., shoppers) etc.—massive traffic jam.

People remember...
