Schubert: "Serenade"

It's disfunctional in that the lady on the balcony doesn't listen to his entreaties, but goes inside at the end. He doesn't get the girl.

Sidenote: Written by Roger McGuinn, Leo recorded this in 1971 as a tribute to The Byrds and McGuinn's fanciful 12 string guitar.

Sidenote: Often sounding like two or more guitar players at once without double tracking, this twelve string rave-up features Leo's extraordinary finger picking while playing a counter melody with a bottleneck slide. Most guitarists find this degree of independence impossible to replicate.

Sidenote: This Bob Morris song was a number on hit for Don Rich and the Buckaroos (featuring country music legend Buck Owens) in the 50s and later became Buck Owens' TV theme song in the 60s. Leo plays it on twelve string with the traditional 6 string flat pick style.

Robert Schumann: "Rose, Sea and Sun"

One of his greatest love songs, and this time I got an English translation. This could be a movie theme.

Mozart: Clarinet Concerto in A Major (second movement)

Sometimes the words of love aren't even necessary. This is one to waller in.

One of the Schubert Lieder that I practiced, and was quite fond of, was "Ständchen"

Petre Munteanu - Ständchen Schubert D.957 Franz Holetschek pianist

My parting offering - now I'm really hitting the hay. :)
