Meanwhile Reid's strategy has always been to keeps Senate Dems off the record as much as possible, particularly on the matters of spending and taxes. That way incumbents can pretend to be whatever they want to be on the campaign trail. Mitch has done a piss poor job of keeping his cats together long enough to use the tools that are at his disposal to get Reid's attention.

You were already on the Giant Ping list.

What you really wanted on was "The Honking Hugh and Series Ping List" :)

Obama can’t afford any compromise with Republicans because there’s not one aspect of conservatism that he can accept. He has to remain the outsider fighting for good against the evil, entrenched establishment. (Still taking notes here.)

One thing I disagree with is that Obama doesn’t have the courage to allow his name to be associated with his policies. I don’t think it’s a matter of courage. He just knows that if he’s associated with his own policies, Americans may begin to wake up and realize their dilemma is his fault, and that might slow the implementation of his agenda. He doesn’t want the responsibility of the presidency; he intends to live the rest of his life as the shining knight who did everything possible to defeat the forces of evil, when in fact he was the architect of that evil.

It’s a nightmarish twist on Ronaldus Magnus’ famous statement that you can get a lot done if you don’t care who gets the credit for it.

Wasn't it Rush who posited that Obama wanted to be Head of State (i.e., King), but not Head of Government?

Much like the split between the Queen and the Prime Minister in the U.K.

Obama doesn’t want to be perceived as responsible for anything that happens in the country...

The total opposite of Obama's fellow Democrat, Harry S Truman. Where does "buck stop," now?

Geez, sorry to be so depressing. Please, somebody, prove me wrong.

I am right there with you and the only way I see the ship changing directions now is for an overwhelming majority of AMERICANS (those that believe in the TRUE words of the Founding Fathers and our Constitution) to come out in very large masses and with very large and motivational voices (leaders).

IMO, this will take many Americans to put their own life's dreams and ambitions on hold, possibly even their livelihood in terms of a steady job because attending many rallies will cause many to lose their time off work very quickly and possibly their job.

“only Levin and a few politicians are openly fighting back
while sangre latino Rubio is foisted as the new third rail petard”

Levin is a big fan of Rubio. That’s a glaring inconsistency in Levin’s fight against the GOP elite.

Youre right

His support of Rubio and his 1860s views are glaring holes
