I was just thinking that so long as the police are in the Human Barbecue business now, they ought to be properly outfitted.

(Do I need the < /sarc > tag this time? ;-) )

That was LAPD and rogue cops subsequently put on leave, and they had nothing to do with this. This was a SB operation

When Wackos get fired, it is never the charge used, because that would be disputed by leftwing psychologist and leftwing laws would give them disability for the rest of their life.

I hate living in a police state as well, and I say that after having worn a badge for 23 years. My point regarding methods of killing a suspect was only that if it is truly necessary, than the method no longer matters. In this case I think my old agency would most likely have surrounded the cabin and waited out the suspect, regardless of how long it took. But that isn’t necessarily the only valid method of dealing with this particular suspect. The media focused on his threats against the police, and pretty much glossed over his first 2 murders, which were a lovely young, innocent woman and her fiance. There was nothing valiant about that, and as the father of 3 lovely young women, I have no problem with the way in which this coward met his end. Situational ethics? Of course. But I defy anyone to defend anything this guy did, morally or legally.

LOL

I was born free. I was raised free. I live free. And I will die free.

Exactly so how many other wackos are still on the job and how many innocent old ladies have they shot?

And if someone defended themselves against the wacko cops you’d still celebrate other cops burning that person alive without a trial.

Now do you get it?

It could just as likely have been suicide by cop. My attitude about Dorner is “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”.

My thinking too. He fought the law and (unsurprisingly) the law won. But at a cost because he killed and injured police and sheriffs and killed other innocent people. Maybe his charred brain will be donated to science

They are ALL cops. They were ALL looking to “get” Dorner.
Wanna bet the radio traffic during that shooting is filled with the same tone- language?

I understand your revulsion, but in point of fact the law does not make a distinction between types of deadly force.

Not sure what law you are referring to. Certainly the means used to kill someone on death row matters. They no longer electrocute and they certainly do not burn them alive.

Its not about defending his actions. Its about not wanting to live in a country where the cops can shoot anyone they want without fear.

Two of the most sensible posts on the thread and we've got over 100 posts before you point them out.

What's wrong with this picture?

As far as burning out a confirmed criminal, they did that back in the days of John Wilkes Booth and he only had one confirmed kill at the time.

What bothers me is that it is more than 224 hours after the incident and they still have no confirmation it was the perp!

It shouldn't take that long even with crispy remains. They can't be that crispy or his driver's license wouldn't have survived. Beyond dental records, there is also DNA evidence which he must have left from the navy and the LAPD.

Gordon Kahl died in a similar incident in 1983 in Arkansas which also included a burnt down structure and charred remains. However, they had a positive identification almost immediately with technology 30 years older.

Barf. Those cops engaged and killed a rabid dog. Can’t pay them enough for their bravery.

What bothers me is that it is more than 224 hours after the incident . . .

Please forgive the typo. I looked up the Gordon Kahl shootout at Medina, North Dakota and found out it happened exactly 30 years ago yesterday . . . while Kahl himself escaped to Arkansas, laid low and lived four more months.

Yep. I guess that whole “Innocent until proven guilty” thing is getting tossed out with the Constitution.

I'll repeat, what executions have those being executed armed and shooting at the executioner?

It's not an "execution" without due process, cop sucker.

Heh, heh LAPD Insurance....I’m not a big fan of the swatted up cops but I think I’d been saying the same thing if I was outside the cabin where the black racist murderer was holes.

Like you, I'm getting damned tired of the anti-police faction on FR.

And we're getting damned tired of crypto-fascist cop-suckers pretending to be "rule of law" conservatives.
