“This preposterous pitch to companies with long, successful histories in our state shows the need for national standards and statutes to reduce gun violence. “

Translation: Make the unconstitutional restrictions so the captive companies in our state will have no where to flee to. Then we will be able to regulate and tax them to death as we will. They belong to us, and it is the federal governments job to insure that they belong to us!

Dear DICK,

Cause and effect is a bitch. Elected 'leaders' with such an impressive void of economic comprehension is a sign of impending doom for your state. It takes a special arrogance to strike at the heart of local businesses, and then demonize their efforts at self-preservation. You're such a democrat.

Cause and effect, moron. Find some third graders to explain it to you:

My neighboring state of New Hampshire is an example of how a state can be “taken over” by another, in this case my own Massachusetts.

With no income tax and no sales tax, New Hampshire had a reputation for being a rugged and sensible state. The motto “Live Free Or Die” says it all.

Then thousands of people fled Taxachusetts to enjoy the tax-free living in New Hampshire. But unfortunately they brought along their Democrat politics and liberal mindset and now the once-conservative New Hampshire is a toss-up on most social issues.

I believe the “takeover” warning has to do with politics. If all those Dems escaping California become a majority in Texas — then good-bye Texas!

I mentioned “democide” in the article’s comments section, but its moderated so it might not make it thru.

Instead of offering them a $5k bounty, I would instead offer them contracts to produce specialty guns for in-state production and use only, and a “contract preference” to those unique guns for the state police, and state discounts to county and local Sheriff and police departments to buy those guns.

This would mean that they would actually have both their primary business, selling everywhere, and a subsidiary that only sells in-state.

It wouldn’t be profitable for a company to set up to just sell guns in-state, so it pretty well guarantees them the contract. A huge incentive for what in effect is a guaranteed market.

Bad idea.

Those employees are almost certainly Unionistas, and probably vote Democrat. I’d give ‘em $5K credit for each new job they create in Alabama, but nothing for ones filled from CN.

“Everyone loses in a case like this”

Except the state that gains the corporation. Blue states are only beginning to learn the ramifications of anti-business policies.

I agree with Idaho but Montanifornia? No way. That former great state has sold out to the liberal money.

Exactly what has happened in Colorado. Just take a look at the anti-gun movement is doing to our once great, free state.

Lol

Keep laughing in a state where Obama got 48 and 42 percent

A few more outta state hippies or hipsters and you are tipped

You need conservatives to move in whitey

No fears ...I’m old....tied to Dixie....and its too cold for wifey

My boys would be in heaven though

They still talk about it

The hwy from livingston to north gate

And that suite we had at The Murray....really cool

I first went to Glacier in 74

Like all of the great west

Interlopers came and were for the most part from 1970 on....bad seed

Who said anything about laughing?

Nothing is funny in this nation, anywhere in the nation, anymore.

But my county voted 60-30 for the lousy Republican congressional candidate who lost the state vote by 5 percent. (I can’t find the presidential numbers but I’m sure the split there was more.)

I live on the north end of the very highway you are talking about, 100 feet from the Yellowstone.

You and your boys are welcome to stay in my fishing cabin anytime you want.

Sorry you can’t handle the cold and a little bit of the white stuff.

Me, I can do without the black.

That is hysterical you got a good laugh out of me as I drive along rural Middle Tennessee doing my Saturday work run

You are spot on about the Deep South no question that is our big issue
But I love the cold I have no big problem with it I live upstate New York once upon a time and my little brother is in Traverse City Michigan I was almost arrested in Cut Bank Montana for stealing firewood from a Rangers cabin he was sure pissed till he heard our accents

We were long haired Mississippi boys with guns naturally and he was from Texas 1 of the east entrance is to Glacier Park anyhow he let us go after scolding us said we were young dumb and full of you know what

Damn he must of had 10 cords of firewood didn’t think he’d miss 6 or 7 logs lesson learned at least he didn’t search our truck that woulda sucked

My daddy would have had my butt having to go all the way to Montana to bail me out of jail

55 degrees and sunny down here
Piss ant snow so far this winter just 2 to 3 inches

Usually we get 2 or 3 decent ones maybe 8 910 inches good for my business car washes

Anyhow god bless you up there keep fighting we are indeed in a pickle
Pardon the Droid

It’s the only way to post while you drive and talk to your damn phone

There have been a couple of articles lately about the Dims targeting Texas due to the changing demographics. They believe they can dump in a bunch of money and use their ground game of getting out the vote to turn it blue. It’s not me saying it - it’s the national Democrat Party.

Although I have a hard time believing liberal heads work in CT weapons plants, the companies are more than welcome to move to Texas. More afraid of the California folks looking for work, than the illegals. They migrate out of the state too. Blumental is a stolen valor idiot from a state of idiots. Perhaps Kimber could be encouraged to move from Yonkers NY too? There can’t be any tax reasons to stay. If Gov Perry is smart he would offer them free land and tax breaks around Austin which is as liberal as the Northeast, and worst case they would vote liberal in liberal districts, at best they might water down the dems influence. Never know we have not had a demonrat governor in 20 years...never give up on Texas!
