Hard lesson to learn Juan. Wake up, buddy, that is not the only rotten thing they do.
It is odd, isn't it. Maybe like Mayor Koch, he really believes a lot of what he says. OR, maybe Williams believes that continuing to spout the left-wing crap is a paycheck.
Juan Williams: “Making millions by realizing in his 50’s what normal people figured out in their teens and 20’s”
News story at 11.
Maybe soon we will all agree that news commentation is designed to draw in viewers. If FoxNews for example ran 24/7 all conservative media what they would have would be a portion of the market. By having “the other side” they feel they garner more viewers. Whether the opinion is right or wrong is of no concern.
When Williams joined Fox, he began sounding more like a RINO than a lefty dem. That did not play well as he could not be used as a foil on any panel discussions. So I believe he was told to be more lefty in his presentations. Some of his views are now wildly off the mark and at odds with those he uttered at PBS. But, at the end of the day, these are entertainment shows, nothing more.
With the exception of NBC and PBS, the other networks seem to be moving toward a more balanced approach in the news. The CBS reporter for example gave a big boost to the gun running matter. There have been some isolated questions hurled at his excellency’s administration too of late from CNN and ABC. The battle over viewers is fought every day. I am not saying these places are going to become bastions of conservative thought, far from that, but the MSM have divided amongst themselves only one segment of the market and will try to make inroads where they can. Murdock has battled back btw with his shift more to the left of late.
Juan will go back to la-la land the minute they forgive his grievous errors. Once back in the fold, Juan will report from a high profile desk on the lunatics at the Tea Party, gun nuts in the crazy right wing, fanatics of the religious right and more. He’s a lefty, does not fit in over here and I don’t think he’s trying to.
Williams, Kristol, Kucinich,Beckle, are just some of the names responsible for Fox’s swing to the left. Not worth watching anymore.
Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio...hispanic, Dr. Ben Cason, Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas, black (aka: “African” American). Notice WHITE liberals demand all their “owned” and defined “minorities” behave according to a pre-ordained “script”... (no variance permitted!)... if/when they don´t they are to be punished... “whupped” with a ferocity similar to that of the slave catchers of the pre-Civil War south (”what yo name boy”?). Racism IS the Liberal mindset.
BTW: President Obama is a (black)WHITE liberal... he was not raised in the “African-American” experience. He has the same “ownership” attitude as do all his fellow WHITE liberals. He´s black only in his skin palor... has the Lib arrogance in all other aspects of life. Juan Williams now knows this, but is SO absorbed in a lifetime of liberal mindset, he is conflicted when truth kick his arse, so he often still spews liberal DemWittery!
No, there are entire businesses. Kim K for a well known example has a number of people who she pays to handle the posts ‘she’ makes. That’s part of her PR. In truth, half the posts are probably written by those same people posting as her. Nothing new or surprising there.
Point being, far more than one person can and does profit from social media posting. The consultants etc are the same people with a different job title making the same money. It just passes through different hands. The nature of the biz is the same.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not disagreeing with you per se. In fact, not at all. I just think that most people already trust a random net blog (and for good reason) more than the MSM. So bloggers being considered as hard newsies isn’t much of a stretch.
We’re going the same place, just down two different lines of thought.
Public school systems do that to conservatives teachers as well.
Had Juan Williams been at Jonestown, he’d have been the only cult member to have gone back for seconds.
The left will blame Ginni Thomas for forcing Juan for saying these things. LOL.
Welcome to the club Juan!
I wonder if NPR’s fat wad attacking Juan Williams is still active.
One thing that most people don't realize is that by doing so he rewrote the law to make it so he could find it constitutional. When did we give the courts the power to alter or create the law?
My thinking is that the GOP does not represent conservatives and conservatives deny this fact. The GOP is intent on beating the dems at their game, being schoozy with the media and the public, wile pretending to be conservative. It’s a loser position in any situation.
Conservatives deny it.
Marco Rubio is seen as a consrvative, yet there is no evidence.
He is a complete complete dooofus jumping around to get a drink of water. AND he gulped! Audibly.
he had spent the previous hour or so taping a response in spanish, so he was revved up, nervous and thirsty, and ill prepared logistically to give that speech which everyone pretends to love.
It’s a metaphor for these guys. They’re trying to please everyone, of course they can’t.
They’re worse than the dems. THe dems have a principal: get in and stay in paower no matter what including destroying the country. Lie to the voters and dumb them down so they’re gullible, in order to do so.
The GOP has no principals so they lose with everyone especially the media who do a Lucy with the football and succeed fro the sam reson she does - doofusness of her opponent..
Conservatives don’t want to admit it.
Hm, how does one boycott the Supreme Court? -- After all, they just declared, in effect, that a dog can be/issue a warrant... further disintegrating the 4th amendment.
Yup. And worse, a lot of ‘conservatives have a sXXt fit when their fantasy is called into question. I was raised believing that part of the whole concept of conservative included a refusal to deny reality. No longer is this true.
Sure, there’s still a core of us that refuse to lie to themselves like liberals, but today, most conservatives have greatly diminished the brand through their actions.
But ‘we’ are ‘purists’ and thus the ‘problem’. Of course the opposite of purity is corruption so I’m good with the purist title.
That’s good and 100% correct.
The libtards in the media are ALWAYS like that, they think the world is full of skittles-crapping unicorns, until they get their ox gored.
Then they get religion fast- or become full-on hypocrites (lying, KNOWING they are lying)
I fully believe most everyday citizens who claim to be democrats have no idea what the democrap party is up to
It took this seemingly bright guy how long to figure this out?
“Yeah...theres not even a pretense of objectivity. They used to (15 years ago) at least run stories that showed Democrats in a bad light...even if the party affiliation was never mentioned..”
They were the same 15 years ago, defending Clinton and attacking Ken Starr. They were the same fifteen years before that, attacking Reagan and calling for a nuclear freeze. They are the same hacks who destroyed Nixon and Joe McCarthy. This isn’t new.
Oh, he’s always transitioning.
Try listening to him, if you haven’t. With all due respect to his position as a journalist, an oxymoron, I am sure, he reallyis not bright nor logical. It’s actually painful to listen.
Bob Beckel is this way as well. Just so illogical as to be painful. Yet these are the two who will debate with conservatives. they get credit for trying, but they are not logical nor bright.
Being an idiot in public is now a high paying job. As long as you spout the right brand of PC idiocy.
The utter irony of Pravda, which by the way goes for the American version, is that Pravda means ‘truth’ in the workers’ paradise.
Ugh! Isn’t it the truth.
They not only influence voters to vote senselessly, the are boring.
Make it stop!
I disagree...at least as a matter of degree. It used to be that the major nets would cloak their bias by seeming to present the conservative point of view...however badly. They don’t even do that anymore.
ABCBSNBCNNPR all do nothing but DNC talking points.
All the red states would have to do is pass a law that mandates a’la carrte cable/dish programming and if enough people on the right cared enough to dump the propaganda outlets, the resulting rate increase on everyone else to make up lost profits would quickly result in critical mass.
The mass cancellation of cable/dish on both the left and right as rates jumped another $50ish a month would leave the propagandists with a much reduced audience to propagandize.
And if Bloomberg can mandate drink sizes, states can mandate this. So why don’t they? A’la carte isn’t a new issue afterall...
Oh...they don’t want to.
OK, my point is that - using Kardashian as an example - Kardashian controls the message and reaps the rewards. There are no filters to the public that she can’t change instantly unlike radio and tv ad time booking or even doing a concert or pr speech.
Accordingly, the “message” can be controlled far more exactly than with traditional media outlets using traditional media experts. Not that the right advice wouldn’t go a long way.
OK, that’s true. No denying it.
The thing is that in a government type context, they would still have to ‘sell’ their legislative product...which we can either ‘buy’ or not. It wouldn’t give them free reign to just lie as long as the ability exists to call them on it. Whereas KK is just an attention hound, the Pubs would control their message (true as you pointed out), but not without boundaries.
With the msm today, it’s a totally stacked deck and the thing is, the GOP is intentionally stacking it right alongside their participation in the circus.
It’s really just a mental exorcize for us anyway because the GOP does not WANT any message different than that the dems put out. If they did, they would change their ways and actually oppose them. Now, time and again, they go through the kabuki theater motions and give the Dems what they want. Over and over again.
THen there’s still academia.
THen there’s still acadamia.
Don’t remind me....
The real bitch with this is that it took 50 years to get here and it’s going to take either a total collapse or another 50 years to fix. Probably more.
Gotta start somewhere and as much as people want to think there is a magic fix, there ain’t. It’s gonna suck, golden cows will get slaughtered, everyone is going to lose standards of living...all of it.
The alternative is simple. Give in and embrace liberalism. People can say no all they want, but it’s simple reality.
My favorite example happened on FR a year or so back. ‘supposed’ Businessmen said they were against a border fence as it would hurt their business. Some conservatives huh? Now since plenty of ‘conservatives will take a similar track when their ox is about to get gored, that collapse seems the only workable option.
I know. Too heavy for a sunday morning.
Just always looking for good news. Haven’t given up yet today. Maybe I’d better.
Fifty years. Hmm.
I do know I tell my high school students, esp when they pontificate on smokers they see in the old movies I show them for lit class, consider what future generations will be saying about US. Cigarettes, bah! They’ll be saying fifty five (more by then) million babies killed?! LegallY?! And that’s the good side. That future generations might be good.
The only good news I can really believe in anymore is that the pendulum ALWAYS swings back. Always. And since Obama and Co. pushed/continue to push it so very far to the left, the swing back is going to make one hell of a mess to liberalism.
History always repeats. From the French and American revolutions to any number of other historical examples. Blowback really sucks. And as a teacher, I know I don’t have to tell you that ;)
The other thing that gives me hope is that a significant number of millenials just aren’t buying the BS. The fact that any of them question things gives me hope.
My go to example is the gun control thing. From GenX on, we (I’m 47) have been raised on video games. With guns in them. Sales figures show that first person/war/HALO type games are the big sellers. They LIKE guns.
Gun sales figures show they buy real ones when they are of age to do so. Murder cases show that the majority of these gun loving gamers are not spree killers. Just normal people.
Whadda ya think is going to happen to dem election chances as more of them start pushing these young pups to hand in their weapons for their own good...then ban any depiction of guns from games?
It ain’t going to go well. If there is one thing the millenials do not like hearing it’s “You can’t/wont.” Not after libs pumped them full of “Be free to be you” for 2 decades....
March on Washington Pro Life 4-500,000 and growing every year
thsi is sfrom the Dartmouth paper in 2010. March was much bigger this year even and not reported nor spoken of in media.
“Everywhere I looked I saw seas of high school and college-aged students who had come from across the country to register their support for the pro-life cause. Nearly every group brought a banner with its name on it, and I saw names of colleges from Ohio to Vermont. Many teenagers were holding up signs that said, We are the pro-life generation.
The whole “I wanna be an individual just like all my friends’ thing the libs pushed just ain’t working anymore. At least not like it used to. some of their friends still buy the ‘big issue over a little tissue’ mentality, but they have gotten so ridiculous with their pro choice crap (As Rush says, libs always overreach), that more and more are saying ‘enough’.
Di spite the programming of TV/media/peer pressure, there is no way any human with the capacity for reason can say that a baby isn’t a life, but a single cell animal on Mars would be. It’s an obvious contradiction. And the more they try pushing that kind of ‘reasoning’ the more people are forced to admit it’s BS...and thus there is likely a lot more BS the left fostered on them.
Another one is Rap music and misogyny. Kinda hard to square women’s rights and the average rap video/song.
There are thousands of things like that and we don’t give younger people enough credit for seeing through it. True, a lot of them still go along to get along, but since plenty of GOP voters do the same damn thing with far more years under their belt, we oughtta cut the yutes some slack IMO.
We can arise as a nation as in the Battle of Athens.
