Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a "very senior person" at the White House warned him in an email that he would "regret doing this," the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined.

"It makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters, 'You're going to regret doing something that you believe in,'" Woodward said.

"I think they're confused," Woodward said of the White House's pushback on his reporting.

Earlier today on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Woodward ripped into Obama in what has become an ongoing feud between the veteran Washington Post journalist and the White House. Woodward said Obama was showing a "kind of madness I haven't seen in a long time" for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns.

The Defense Department said in early February that it would not deploy the U.S.S. Harry Truman to the Persian Gulf, citing budget concerns relating to the looming cuts known as the sequester.

"Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying, 'Oh, by the way, I can't do this because of some budget document?'" Woodward said on MSNBC.

"Or George W. Bush saying, 'You know, I'm not going to invade Iraq because I can't get the aircraft carriers I need?'" Or even Bill Clinton saying, 'You know, I'm not going to attack Saddam Hussein's intelligence headquarters,' ... because of some budget document?"

Last weekend, Woodward called out Obama

Don't you love it when liberals turn on their own. I am old enough to remember the havoc wrecked by this guy in Washington back in '73 and '74.

Based on that, I am also sure Woodward's ego is not going to let the the punk POTUS bully him into toning it down either.

A best case scenario is that this thing escalates and Woodward truly becomes the one MSM mouthpiece who will bear they scandals as the really stand.

One can hope........

I’m really starting to wonder how this is going to turn out. It’s becoming less likely that we’ll see Woodward doing the public mea culpa and falling on his sword - if anything he’s doubling-down on it. He’s kind of judgement proof, what’s the WaPo going to fire him?

You have to know in the back of Woodward’s mind he’s thinking about bringing down another president. He only wishes it could be a Republican again. This is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

the Huff Po is attacking Bob. I hope they make him angry enough to tell the truth about D.C.

This is so cool.

After the election I was posting warnings her that the tax fight to get ALL the cuts extended was one the GOP could not possibly win, so they should save their troops and ammunition for a more sensible fight, and pass a partial extension as early as possible.

But this one is different. Obama has been strutting around like a Pea-cock fluffed up by staring at his poll numbers and series of victories endlessly.

Some in the MSM are getting tired of carrying his water, after all the election is over and he doesn't need that protection anymore.

The GOP has a few good talking points for a change, compared to the tax fight.

His self confidence is getting the best of him.

There's plenty of room under Obama's bus.

Isn't Bob Woodward looking more and more like a RACIST?

Do you know where Marcy Park is? I’m sure the Administration folks know the exact location.

Maybe he's too old to care what "they" might do to him. So he might as well go out... singing?

Woodward with a busted "give a d@mn" button could be a fearful thing.

This is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

Me too, vaguely (lol)...my guess is, the next step by the lib's will be to attack Woodward along the lines of "early onset dementia/Alzheimer's"...

I do not mean to offend, in reality that is a terrible thing to happen to anyone, but I doubt Woodward suffers from it. The fact that he's getting older makes it a plausible idea, is all, and I have NO doubts at all that this administration (and/or their friends) would do anything to discredit their "opposition".

Hey, Bob, you could give this “very senior official” a pseudonym, like you did with “Deep Throat.” In this case, may I suggest “Jalerie Varrett.”

The MSM doesn’t give much weight to the 2nd. Mebbe we’ll get to see if they walk-the-walk on all that brave talk about their sacred 1st ....

Nahhhh. Bob’ll be back on the Minitrue reservation in time for TGIF.
Lover’s tiff.
