Florida bill would require anger management courses for bullet buyers

Florida legislator wants anyone trying to buy ammunition to complete an anger management program first, in what critics say is the latest example of local lawmakers reaching for constitutionally-dubious solutions to the problem of gun violence.

The bill filed Saturday by state Sen. Audrey Gibson, D-Jacksonville, would require a three-day waiting period for the sale of any firearm and the sale of ammunition to anyone who has not completed anger management courses. The proposal would require ammo buyers to take the anger management courses every 10 years.

And the anger management courses cost how much? Is he proposing to offer them for free? This would prevent poor people from buying ammo.

With the shortage of ammunition being what it is, I typically have to wait for weeks, if not months to find ammo. They want a three day waiting period for purchasing ammo? Wow!

I’d like to see IQ tests before anyone can run for office.

That’s probably okay. You can cast your own bullets for reloading and continue to buy cartridges /s.

One, or two, five or ten years from now, Audrey would likely be one of the ones that line you up next to a ditch and blow your brains out with the very same guns, the very same ammunition, and the very same 'reason' she exhibits now and blow your effing brains out. All because you don't see her side of compassionate reason and her vision of liberal Utopia..

If "progressives/liberals/socialists/communists" insist on fundamentally "changing"(ramming it down our throats)the U.S. via ignoring and violating our Constitution...

...should not they be required to "make" us accept the change by force of arms?

Many many more are killed because of road rage.

So lets require that everyone take anger management courses, successfully, before they can get a drivers license.

I wasn’t angry till all these idiots started talking inanities (1.meaningless quality: meaninglessness or senselessness that suggests a lack of understanding or intelligence).

I know a dozen shooters well and nearly 100 shooters at the gun club, and they are the most mellow people I know.

I wish we could require than any politician wanting a new gun law should spend 4 hours at a gun club to observe members and must shoot a firearm. It’s always worked for me in showing novices what it’s all about.

None of us want to hurt anyone ever.

I think we should require lawmakers to take Constitution courses run by strict constitutionalists instructors and pass a battery of tests and then have ethics courses taught to them as well and pass more tests before they are allowed to write laws.

And then, once this passes, the FL background check document will revised to ask, “Have you ever been directed to attend any type of course pertaining to your mental health, such as Anger Management?”
