Spend $80-ish K on a Shelby Mustang GT500 and you have pretty much the same thing.

I don't care, I want it. Or both. The important thing is to enjoy your wheels.

I’m a Koenigsegg Gal myself. Top speed of the 2013 Agera R is a nice 273 mph. Mr Peel is a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport fan. Top speed about 288. Hennessey Venom GT goes like a rocket, and its a bargain at under $2 million. I certainly wouldn’t take up precious garage space with that Lambo 3.9 Mil and a mere 220 mph. Ha!

A couple years ago I ran into a small traffic jam at a backroads intersection in the Philly suburbs. When I got to the intersection I saw what was casuing the jam: there was this beautiful new-looking Lamborghini with its flashers on and the hood up. Next to the car, on the sidewalk, was a 60-ish looking fellow dressed like a Rockefeller, and he was slowly pacing back and forth obviously waiting for triple A to show up. That had to be embarrassing as hell. I chuckled.

My Father bought an Oldsmobile Delta 88 in 1965. It had a 425 and positraction. If I remember right it was 370 HP.

It was powerful but nothing like those fantastic sports cars. On the other hand, it lasted through Daddy, my older Brother then me. I finally sold it with over 200,000 miles on it.

Except for the water pump (a very inexpensive repair) and the starter, it never had any real repairs. I did have to replace the AC’s seal. After I took the unit off the car, I had a mechanic pull the seal as he had the tool which you had to use to pull it. It took him around 10 seconds to pull it and he charged me a dollar.

The real good part is it would cruise comfortably at 80mph on the interstate. It was just loafing along while I was driving in air conditioned comfort.

When I floored it, it roared like a lion and pushed you back in the seat.

What a car it was. I would give anything to have it back brand new.

I’m going to have trouble getting in and out of that beauty. Lucky I’ve got the Navigator for long trips.

What I remember from the early days of the Veyron was Top Gear’s feature on the car. Clarkson mentioned that the car carries only enough fuel to run at top speed for twelve minutes, but that’s okay because the tires would fly apart after fifteen minutes at top speed.

As thrilling as the idea of a car that tops out at well over 200mph sounds, I have a hunch I’d still have more fun driving my humble Miata. Its limits may not be anywhere near as high, but I can get much closer to them before I draw any unwanted attention.

Does it have cup holders? I hate spilling my coffee at 200mph.

I'm sorry; you would probably be better served by an SUV. But if you still just gotta have a Lambo, you're in luck.

Lamborghini Urus:

Does the back door flip up or open to the side? That’s important when I’m loading those 50 pound sacks of fertilizer in it.

I have always thought that it would be cool to roll into a backwoods bar on opening day of elk season with that brutish-looking LM002 with its charging bull on the front and Lamborghini lettered across the back. I bet you'd draw as big a crowd as the guy with a trophy elk in the back. (Of course, you'd never put an elk carcass into the LM002 because you wouldn't want to ruin the carpet or leather.)

By all accounts, the LM002 was fearsome 4WD with unmatched capabilities 20 years ago. I'm sure some of the current SuperDuties, Rams, and other current 4WD brutes can probably match or exceed the 20-year-old technology of the LM002 but when its all said and done, there just Fords, Dodges, etc. and this is a Lamborghini.

I tell you, I’m not going to pay over $13,000 unless it has those LED running lights up front and turn signal mirrors.
