Two months ago, independents tilted clearly in his direction, with 54 percent approving and 41 percent disapproving. Now, half of independents express a negative opinion of the president’s performance; just 44 percent approve.
The president has also seen an erosion in confidence among groups that he has counted as core supporters. Compared with a Post-ABC poll in December, the share of liberals who place their faith in Obama over Republicans when it comes to dealing with the economy is 14 points lower; there has been a 12-point slide among women.
At 50 percent, Obama’s overall standing in the poll is lower than that of most other modern second-term presidents at this point in their terms. Of the seven second-term presidents who have been in office since Harry S. Truman, only George W. Bush had a positive rating as low as 50 percent at this stage.

It would be a somewhat slower pace of government GROWTH. Just as it has always been, year in, year out.
Government spending in the United States has steadily increased from seven percent of GDP in 1902 to 40 percent today.
The outlook wouldn’t change, we’d still be headed for a crash, albeit we’d have more time to prepare.
But the biggest thing about it would be
would we have someone who actually likes America in power for the rebuilding phase after the crash.
This is significant of nothing.
It only occurs after an election and only long before an election cycle so that the public will not recall anything said. It allows the press to experience their own “rumspringa” so that they can, in a timely fashion, return to the fold when the election cycle begins again.
Then they can claim that overall, they are fair and balanced because they do publish criticism.
Polls like these never mattered prior to the election cycle last time, why would they be anything different now?
People look for any ray of light, but this is significant of nothing meaningful at all.
And that was with a relentless daily attack by the media. Barry never hears a bad word from the Fifth Estate and still can't do better than W. That is saying something.

I disagree. As of March 1, Barry became a lame duck.
Barry is making the MSM look bad by lying and being stupid. They hate that! His anti-sequester Chicken Little campaign was a disaster and they gave him 4 Pinocchios. This is a replay of how they attacked him after the 1st debate.

Except that Obamacare can’t be implemented because it is mostly incomprehensible (did you see the visual on Fox of the 22,000 pages of regulations stacked to the ceiling)and the parts that are comprehensible are job-killing, profit killing and structured to guarantee actuarial failure (financial disaster).
The national terror of Obamacare is becoming clearer by the day and Paul Ryan has correctly predicted that it will fail on its own.

Didn’t they hire 15,000 new IRS agents specifically to interpret/enforce Obamacare?
The sequester has brought Barry to his knees. It was forced on him by the Tea Party inspired House in 2011 in exchange for agreeing to allow a rise in the debt ceiling.
Boehner knows fully well that he and the Tea Party can inflict sequester II on Barry i.e. another dollar for dollar ten-year reduction in spending equal to any rise in the debt limit.
They are not angry enough to risk anything really critical because they don’t want to lose access, which is key for all of them. It will be limited to the mumbling grouse.
