We all make economic choices.

Perhaps some could choose between buying pot and buying a phone.

Perhaps some could choose between buying a 52 inch TV and buying a phone.

Perhaps some could choose between buying $500 tennis shoes and buying a phone.

Perhaps some could choose between having another illegitimate child and buying a phone.

I am sure that there are out there some people that literally can not afford a phone but I doubt that there are 15 million that could in no way pay for there own phone.

ROFLMAO!

This idjit acts as if the $11 per month per phone is a make-it-or-break-it proposition for these people!

Does he NOT look at the pictures where they decorate themselves with expensive items such as tattoos, 'grilles' and false fingernails?

Oh.....I forgot-

they're Democrat, so common sense need not apply.

Whenever you hear, read “Allow me to set the record straight” or “Let me be clear” it is the obsufucation of the truth - in plain English it is a lead into another lie.

Meant to say, “WITH this program, 15 million low-income families are literally choosing TO SIT ON THEIR BUTT INSTEAD OF BEING RESPONSIBLE AND GETTING A JOB ON THEIR OWN WHILE NOT feeding their children FOR USING THE EXCUSE THAT going without a dial tone CAN potentially save their lives and put them on a better economic path.”

EXCUSE TO STAY LAZY!

41 percent of those receiving free mobile phones don’t meet the requirements — some because they’re dead

IF dead doesn't prevent them from voting, why should it prevent them from having an OmabaPhone?

Mignon Clyburn, a Democratic member of the Federal Communications Commission according to The Hill. “Without this program, 15 million low-income families would literally be choosing between feeding their children or going without a dial tone

Grammar isn't all that hard. The phrase would properly be "choosing between feeding their children and having a dial tone". The author was really saying that if they fed their children, they would go without a dial tone.

More seriously, they already have a free landline program, and most poor people live in the inner city where landlines are easy and cheap. SO they'd only be choosing convenience.

And most poor people don't feed their kids. They get free breakfast and lunch at school, and food stamps for dinner.

And my cell phone costs me $7.33 a month. It would be fifty cents cheaper if not for federal taxes. $20 every three months, if I limit my use to 73 minutes or less a month. No kid is starving because of $8 a month. I bet these people have TV sets that use almost that much in power a month. Which maybe they aren't paying for either.

And the funniest thing is a democrat would probably be happy that the government manages to only waste half the money -- for government, that is probably better than usual.

Horse manure!!!!!

But if the socialists insist on giving free phones away, make sure that the phones can only dial 911..............

Are there elections for those spots?

Elections are superfluous, as James Clyburn's daughter is entitled to that spot.

She is the daughter of United States Representative Jim Clyburn.

Thus,no elections are necessary. No non-relatives of Jim Clyburn need apply. A new AA dynasty takes shape!

Yes, the General Election for President of the United States. Elections have consequences. Some elections have greater consequences than others.

Sure doesn’t look like much emergency safety net for nobamaphone users to be non-stop walking around Walmart on the phone just chatin “what yo doin gul? Ah nutin, just chillin in Walmarts”

If any common sense were at play in this nobamaphone thing, to give those 15 million “dialtone safety net”, why entitle them to 250 minutes a month? What about an Emergency Phone, that would only call 911 if the ComeYet actually had an emergency? The problem with an Emergency Phone is that some cell phone company big fat nobama supporter won’t be able to scam Billions of nobama’s stash.

A post of mine on this subject from a week ago:FWIW, the woman I wrote about is 27 years old. She had her first kid at age 12. And she's not one of Holder's people. She's the pluperfect example of a taker.

No, they (political class) appoint cronies and relatives to the FCC.

I.E. Mignon Clyburn, who followed her father (Congressman James Clyburn) to a State of South Carolina lucrative state government position when her father was Human Affairs Commisioner, was appointed FCC Commisioner @ $170k per year. Colon Powell's son "served" as commisioner when he was in Bush administration. Appointments are political and are not based on merit. Stinks to high heaven.

choosing between feeding their children or going without a dial tone

They feed their children with food stamps that we also pay for. One has nothing to do with the other.

1) I guess the parents gambled successfully that a kid named Filet Mignon would eat well at the public trough.
2) Filet is too (willfully) dense to understand that when 41% of a welfare program’s resources are stolen, the intended beneficiaries lose. The cheats are stealing from “the hungry children”, not just those taxed to pay for the handouts. Apparently he has an interest in continuing the fraud.
3) Without free cell phones, how could the Obama Campaign/Organizing for America coordinate voter fraud and gin up fake support for deficit spending?
4) Please write your Congressional reps today, to ask what they will do to stop this entire corrupt, off-the-books, redistribution-of-income program.

“Without this program, 15 million low-income families would literally be choosing between feeding their children or going without a dial tone that potentially could save their lives and put them on a better economic path.”

The same old liberal argument. "Without this property tax increase, the town would literally be choosing between having a fire department or going without teachers at the middle school."

Because there's never anywhere else to cut, don'tcha know. It is a perpetual "crisis point".
