STEUBENVILLE - Jefferson County Prosecutor Jane Hanlin and her family had to leave town during the juvenile rape trial because of threats made against both her and her family.
Sunday evening, Hanlin confirmed that threats had been made, and she found them to be credible. Hanlin said there were instances of threats before, but the number of threats of a specific nature grew.
"As the trial date grew closer, we received a number of them that seemed to be more credible than others," Hanlin said.
Or perhaps witch hunters can never be wrong because they have God on their side....

If you read my posts, you’ll find that I didn’t say that it did. Quite the contrary... I said it didn’t excuse the boy’s actions.
Alcohol lowers inhibitions in both sexes. Even id a young woman doesn’t pass out she’s still in grave danger going down the path she apparently chose.
She ran into the perfect storm. She passed out and was in the company of low life’s that were also drunk. However in either case, the results were similar and predictable.
She must have been aware that that was where it was going, if she had any experience dating at all. That’s why I suggested she was a slut.

If you re-read my post, you will see that I didn’t make a statement about his daughter. I ask a question of him?
Frankly it’s odd to me that he would defend this stranger girl to the point of calling me vile names.
I was at a dinner party about nine or ten years ago with other adults (no one under 30) and drank ONE glass of wine which made me need to go and collapse on a bed. There were only about ten people there (all co-workers of a girlfriend of mine, who I was with) and this was certainly no sex/drug/rock and roll get together. . .seriously, a dinner party with men AND women (equally mixed). I am a regular drinker, and certainly have NEVER had that sort of reaction from alcohol (regular drinker, not excessive drinker). Thank god my girlfriend was keeping an eye on the door of the bedroom I was passed out in because one of the guys came into the room and began kissing me when she came in behind him.
We immediately left and got into a cab, and she had to get my HUSBAND (who was home watching the kids) to get me out of the taxi and bring me into the house. I called a doctor friend the next morning who was emphatic that it was the date-rape drug, but because it passes through your system so quickly, there would be no way to prove it.
I certainly didn’t flirt with any of the guys or in other ways suggest I was interested, and boy (!) was it hard to explain to my husband. (Which really sucked since I was a certainly an unwilling participant).
A teenager who didn’t have experience drinking could ABSOLUTELY be completely unconscious while being raped if she had been given whatever I was given. There is no doubt in my mind that the one glass of wine I drank was dosed with something.
I followed some links here on FR earlier to day and was shocked to find a lot of information that has not been in the mainstream media.
The facebook, IM and email messages of the kids at the high school are posted on those links.
Apparently the girl broke up with one of the boys a couple of months earlier. The boy was furious and said he was going to get revenge on the “bitch”. For over a month they plotted to get her to go to a party. One of the boys’ girlfriends got her to go to this party and apparently slipped her a date rape drug. She was totally sober but shortly after was unconscious.
Hopefully the real story will come out. The verbatim transcripts of the email messages are chilling.
BTW the boy she broke up with, his family has a lot of money. They got the charges dropped. I guess it’s the poor kids who are being charged.
Poor kid, I can’t even imagine. (The girl, obviously). These scumbags will just continue this type of behavior as adults. It’s all so sick and stressful.

I live in NYC. Any woman that thinks she’s attractive, even if she has a boyfriend, will continue to dress as if she’s single. Society is indeed going down a slope that’s incredibly difficult to crawl back up from.

Consentual sex has nothing to do with rape, or as you say “boys just like to have sex.” You can not consent to sex when you are passed out. Boys can get raped, too, you know.
Perverts are usually that by “sexual orientation” and they usually re-offend. It’s okay to have them on a pervert sex offender list.
