In the end, just before the meeting, Rudd announced that he would not be running for the leadership. There was no challenge and Gillard and her deputy were returned to their positions.

What it really means is that Labor is most likely stuck with Gillard as PM for the election due in September. Based on current polls, Labor would need a miracle to win the election.

Until then, the goat rodeo that is the current government, will continue.

Australia’s media, like the Australian Broadcasting Company, are even more corrupt and unprofessional than their US counterparts. Think Chris Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, Brian Williams as running liberal talk shows. Then going on air as so-called journalists.
