Mitch McConnell Votes to Fund Obamacare
Red State ^ | 3/21/2013 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 03/21/2013 4:23:56 AM PDT by IbJensen

Hey, remember that awesome CPAC speech by Mitch McConnell?

The one where Mitch McConnell said — and I quote — “Obamacare should be repealed root and branch. And we’re not backing down from this fight.”

And the same speech where Mitch McConnell also said, “This law is a disaster, and anybody who thinks we’ve moved beyond it is dead wrong.”

Well, as I told you, Mitch McConnell excels at saying one thing and doing another. Yesterday, Mitch McConnell voted to fund Obamacare.

Hey Utah, he joined Orrin Hatch in doing so. Remember, just last year on the campaign trail Orrin Hatch told you all how he was going to absolutely fight to rid us of Obamacare at all costs. And he got a large portion of the conservative movement to cheer him on as a result.

Yeah, that Orrin Hatch voted to fund Obamacare too.

And now for the punchline — the majority of the Republicans in the Senate voted against funding Obamacare. McConnell and Hatch were in the minority of Republicans who chose to side with the Democrats and fund Obamacare.

Here is the full list of the Republicans who voted for the Ted Cruz amendment to defund Obamacare, but then flipped their votes to actually vote to fund Obamacare : ◾Alexander (R-TN)

◾Barrasso (R-WY)

◾Blunt (R-MO)

◾Boozman (R-AR)

◾Chambliss (R-GA)

◾Coats (R-IN)

◾Cochran (R-MS)

◾Collins (R-ME)

◾Corker (R-TN)

◾Cornyn (R-TX)

◾Hatch (R-UT)

◾Hoeven (R-ND)

◾Isakson (R-GA)

◾Johanns (R-NE)

◾McConnell (R-KY)

◾Murkowski (R-AK)

◾Sessions (R-AL)

◾Shelby (R-AL)

◾Thune (R-SD)

◾Wicker (R-MS)

“Mitch is a bitch! Get rid of this weasel! “

How has he fooled so many for so long..He is proof that the ACU is compromised...they gave him 100% conservative rating.
The give Paul and Rubio 100% too!

THE ACU IS COMPROMISED, people!!! Mitch always has been.

Cornyn voted yes. I am even MORE disappointed in this. I thought he was better than McConnell!

Yes I figured he was going to act like Ted Cruz's little brother until 2014, then pull a McCain and go back to being RINO. Ne needs to be primary challenged, send him where we sent Dewhurst.

That is an example of your average and typical leftist (formerly called liberals) these days. They ‘think’ that anyone that opposes Obama is an elderly white racist that will die off in the next few years or decade...and after that it will be ‘smooth-sailing’ for the Obama-slurpers and their commie ilk.

They’d be wrong about that, too.

The GOP doesn’t want to repeal obamacare. They just want to talk about repealing it.

The priority of beltway GOP has always been a deal where they get a cut of the spending pie.

The beltway GOP just does not care about the country. It’s all about personal gain to them. If they cared they would stand and fight. They don’t because it’s not important to them. Take away their pensions and you would see a brawl.

Sorry, I reread your post and can see from your lack of reply to my cogent points that you are a big fan of the Boehner/McConnell/Romney/Pribus tip toe through the tulips loser strategy. Have a nice day, FRiend.

” Cruel reality that conservatives must face is that the GOP, and especially their multinational corporation funders, support ObamaCare. Next it will be extended to Illegal Aliens via Amnesty”

Our party has been destroyed.

They don’t have the leverage now. They will when the debt ceiling is up and they can force the Dems to produce a budget.

Just like how they used their leverage during the lame duck 2010 session?

Just like how they used their leverage during the 2011 debt ceiling debate?

Just like how they used their leverage during the 2012 debt ceiling debate?

What leverage do Republicans have when Boehner says he trusts Obama completely, Pelosi says she "smokes Boehner out," and McConnell undermines Boehner during the debt ceiling debates?

Sorry, we get the same results with Mitch or Ashley, just differing rates of speed.

Its time for a balanced budget based on cutting some federal departments out completely like EPA and OSHA.

They can be done by the states.

Spending and debt must stop now or never.....

Conservatives have no representation.

The New World Order socialists will get their one-world government and the Republicans will help them. Daddy Bush was a little more blatant that the GOP of the last 15 years, but they all are in this together.

We are being sold out. The GOP wants similar things to the commie dems.

We have no representation. The USA is being destroyed to clear the way for one-world government and both parties want this. People are delusional to think we can stop that by voting and writing our “representatives.”

The Fix is In. We have been doomed for a long time.

I’m not sure what you think “cogent” means.

It’s not really worth arguing with those who cant understand that politics is about what is possible.

Since you claim not to want a shutdown, but want the GOP to fight for a little while, then cave, i dont see the point.

They should hold up govt business, threaten a shutdown over a repeal that will never happen?

Sorry, that isnt smart.

Evrrything before this year was both sides punting, to see who would win.

Now we know.

Hold yourbreath all you want, but we cant drive policy from one house.

And acting like extremists with empty bluffs is not going to win any followers.

I hate to say it, but you're probably right.

What do Mitch McConnell and Ashley Judd have in common?

Both are actors who spout lines that mean nothing in reality.

Both are politically useless with egos the size of Texas.

THIS IS WHY THE TEA PARTY WAS CREATED.

Bleed McConnell in the primary. Let him know that he is toast and that his renomination will cost the GOP a ton of donations that won’t be coming in.

Bleed and boycott. If Murkowski can run as a “third party” person, and WIN, then so can someone else who is a credible candidate.

And when Mitch McConnell wins his primary, Erick Erickson will support him in the general election. The Republican Party is more important to Erick Erickson than conservatism.

Don’t believe me? Go to Redstate and advocate a third party. You can be banned for it.

In the story of the frog and the scorpion, the Republicans will always be frogs. Until the likes of McConnell, Hatch, McCain, and Boehner retire, it's their nature.
