The one question about immigration reform no one asks
American Thinker ^ | 04/01/2013 | Bruce Johnson

There are many immigration reform proposals floating about. Many have merits. But whether you agree with the concept or the mechanism, there is one question no one seems to ask.

Each and every one of the immigration reforms pushed forward requires one thing. That one requirement is a "sign up" or a "coming forward" by the illegal immigrant to enter the program or to initiate some type of process.

The "coming forward" by the illegal immigrant is a convenient assumption, which leads us to the question. IF the illegal immigrant does not come forward, does not enroll in the immigration reform plan, does not enter the process, what then?

What makes these politicians believe that those who have ignored previous rules will suddenly step forward to comply?

They won’t, and the politicians don’t care. They will be treated exactly like they are now - no arrest, no deportation, full access to drivers’ licenses, EBT, SNAP, WICs, Medicaid and all the rest.

The truth is that they are ALREADY voting, at least a lot of them. If the Democrats legalize more, then all the better for Democrats.

Elitist and power hungry RINO Republicans have the mistaken idea that they can work to ‘eventually’ get the hispanic vote. Bull Shit. They are nothing better than the bureaucrats of the Vichy government or the Jew prisoner handlers in the Gestapo/SS prison camps of WWII.

Give them 3 months to “enroll” and if not by then, if captured ship back to where they came from. When apprehended create a no return list.

Sounds like don’t ask, don’t tell....

Why would anyone with the ability to reason believe that criminals will obey new gun control laws any more than they obey current gun control laws and laws against crime?

Why would anyone with the ability to reason believe the government will enforce new immigration laws any more than they enforce current immigration laws?

Why would they sign up or a “coming forward?.
They would have to pay taxes and would be accounted for,all the curb crawler get paid in cash and receive welfare so why give it up?.

Studies have shown that only about 20% would come forward. Lets face it the majority of the illegals are Mexican. Highly nationalistic. They have no desire to become American citizens. They are here for the freebies.

Hare’s a question I’d like to ask: Why,starting the night of the election returns, has it become an undebatable assumption that a mass amnesty is inevitable among Dems and Republicans and that it’s just a matter of hammering out the details. No more talk of self-deportation (it’s now mocked as some sort of absurdity), no more talk of simple enforcement. Not one Republican has resisted this huge shift. This has an “Overton Window” feel to it.

The problem is that none of the immigration reform proposals deals with the magnets that bring the illegals here. Birthright citizenship has to be done away with and in it’s place needs to be a provision that you can only be granted citizenship if born to two natural born of tow naturalized citizens. We also need a combination of some one in the White House and a Congress willing to tell Mexico that they can either stop the invasion from their side of the border or face one from our side. We shouldn’t have to live with a failed state on our border.

Someone in Congress has to work on a Constitutional Amendment for this. There is no other way for this problem to be solved.

I also find it hilarious that the pols tell us these people will have to pay taxes. The vast majority of them work under the table and their bosses aren’t going to come forward and put themselves in a position of going to jail. This doesn’t even take into account the deductions they’ll be allowed. So in the end, the vast majority of these people won’t pay taxes and may even qualify for refunds.

Also, not a single one of these amnestistas has said a single word about thse family members of the now illegals get to get in line to be here. What we have is the Katrina of political, union, and business self interests meshing together to steamroll the country for their own benefits.

RE: . They are here for the freebies.

I thought they are here to do the work no American wants to do?

If this is the case, then a simple temp. work visa would solve the problem (Singapore does this quite capably).

If what you say is true (i.e., they are here for freebies ), then we need a system put in place to SEND THEM BACK HOME.

What most people don’t know is that we already have about 4 guest worker programs in place already. The guest worker visa ploy is just a bunch of BS to legalize 11-20 million unknowns so the Congress does not have to deal with the problem which is a porous border with a failed narco state.

At the highest levels of govt the US has an agreement with Mexico to keep the border fluid and function as a safety release valve for all the poor in Mexico who can’t make a decent living. Over 40% of Mexico’s GDP is derived from money sent back home from the illegals working in the states. If we really cracked down Mexico would totally collapse.

Exactly. I’ve been asking this question for a while. Will we need an amnesty for illegal illegals?

When it comes to either going after unregistered illegal aliens or unregistered guns, you know where the government resources would be spent.

“What most people don’t know is that we already have about 4 guest worker programs in place already.”

Four? There’s a lot more than that, plus dozens of ‘special’ visas that are not work related. This is one of the best kept secrets around. You can’t add them all up. I’ve tried.

Great question! Thanks!

My question to Congress is: “Since you Congress Cowards did not enforce the previous Federal Border Laws that you made, why do you think that you will enforce these new Federal Border Laws?”
