SANFORD - Trayvon Martin's parents have settled a wrongful death claim for an amount believed to be more than $1 million against the homeowners association of the Sanford subdivision where their teenage son was killed.
Their attorney, Benjamin Crump, filed that paperwork at the Seminole County Courthouse, a portion of which was made public today.

I remember when FR frowned upon racism. When I read comments like this I can’t help but wonder if there are plants here.
People may believe that Zimmerman was defending himself but parents being upset that their son is dead is not a criminal act nor something to be laughed at. If it were ever to happen to a child of yours your opinion might be different.
Ah, wouldn’t you wait, if you were representing the HOA, until the criminal trial was settled as it is quite possible the self avowed “gangsta, nigga” was the guilty party and ZERO dollars needed to be paid out?
Young Master Martin called himself that on the Internet, which the poster should’ve noted.
These terrible failures as parents have been rewarded for having a son who turned out to be a thief, a violent thug and a drug dealer.
They did not raise him correctly or teach him values. They let him grow up to be a violent, punk criminal. They didn’t even know he was missing until over a day after he died.
And now for producing a violent parasite on society they have been given possibly one million dollars.
Lawyers get 40% plus costs (which are substantial here—PR firm, travel expenses, hotels, meals, etc) mom and dad probably split 500 g’s. Woo Hoo. partey time.
I believe that comment is not the poster’s, but is simply quoting a statement from Trayvon Martin’s own Facebook Page.
The embarrassing stuff on his page was quickly erased, but some of the details were saved and gradually came out. This was one of them, as I recall.
Why would the HOA insurance company settle with these schemers at a time when their whole scheme is falling apart????

Well that would depend on the parents wouldn’t it?...... This is blood money on the back of their son...and they started this from the get go as a means of monetary gain. I have little if any sympathy for these two.
You are correct. Having said that, the system that allows this shakedown is corrupt.
I suspect that a settlement was reached because it has become so obvious that the case against Zimmerman is falling apart to the point of non-existence, which is what the initial police investigation found.
All this has been hyped up for the purposes of this lawsuit and to gin up support for President Obama’s reelection.
We have to go to a colorblind society. This is being prevented by the race hustlers and, particularly, the MSM.
All of these actions pushes us closer and closer to a violent confrontation when the majority finally find their persecution to be too much. I see cracks occurring in the MSM and in public discourse. The emperor wears no clothes, and a few people are willing to talk about it.
Comments on the criminality of the black urban underclass are more and more common. Everyone knows that they are true, but the MSM and the left has made it taboo to mention them. That taboo is failing.
We live in perilous times.
How on earth was the HOA responsible? Does this mean that they can cloud the title for every homeowner that is a member of the HOA? Just another reason to NOT ever belong to an HOA...
The poster was quoting Trayvon Martin describing himself. Those are Trayvon’s words and his own self-supplied nickname. Trayvon was proud to name himself that.
Since when is accurately quoting someone an excuse to make false allegations of racism?

That was the intention from the get go. .....having followed this from the early beginnings they lied thru their teeth with the very first police report...and backtracked from then on after family member ,(Lawyer), painted a pie in the sky for them.
FWIW, I recall that Trayvon’s parents were suing the HOA, and Travelers Insurance, even though Travelers was not the company that was insuring the HOA at the time of Trayvon’s death.
Travelers filed a suit to fight that they were responsible to pay the Martin’s, and have the portion of the suit against Travelers tossed since they were not the Insurance Company at the time of his death. Travelers, IIRC didn’t beomve the HOA’s insurer until April. I have no idea how it worked out for Travelers.
