Game of Thrones was the same night, right?
the addition to emotion is a really ominous development
It could be that The Bible vs Walking Dead, was just what cable people had. AMC is on most, even the basic while the History Channel is not.
Someone get O’Reilly a maxi-pad, it’s his time of the month.
What a little bitch.
Bill O’ Reilly trying to win back “Bible Thumpers”. Sorry Bill you have been exposed as the fraud you are.
Good Lord. O’Reilly wrote this? I would be ashamed to sign my name to these jejune monstrosity.
And this is why DVR/On Demand was invented.
Watch Jesus live, to give deference. Watch Zombies later.
I have basic and get the HC. My daughter who is 26 chose The Walking Dead while I watched The Bible. I watched most of the series. I think The Walking Dead is the dumbest show on TV but maybe tied with The Bachelor.
God created Norman Reedus (Darryl), so I’m sure he will be understanding in my total and undying affection for him and not mind me watching him after The Bible.
Don’t ask me,I never heard of it. I watched Fox news, but recorded the Bible episodes and watched each episode after the recording was finished
In the old Celtic language, O’Reilly translates into “blowhard.” If it doesn’t, it should.
And stick it in his mouth.
Isn’t the Walking Dead an old movie? I remember we went to a Drive-in Movie in St Augustine, Florida back in September of 1966. The first movie they showed was Dracula and the second one was the Walking Dead. Dracula was scary enough for me, but the Walking Dead was even more so. Since that time I have refused to watch horror movies. To me horror movies are very inappropriate on Easter
I agree. Transparent.
DVR..JEEZ... this article is so lame. nobody I know watches broadcast anymore. Either Netflix, DVR with burn through the commercials. This is actually an indictment on how these people are so out of touch with what is actually happening in flyover country.
O’Reilly is pathetic.
He is writing another book, “Killing Jesus” so he believes himself the authority on the subject. He is in his “I know more than the Bible does” mode. He is writing the book at his own peril.
He mocked the Bible and the movie. It’s time for him to jump on the soapbox and preach “The Bible According To O’Reilly”. Turn him off and shut him down. His book will never enter my home, just like his other drivel.
That's exactly how this reads.
This is a stupid article—those who wanted to watch both, watched both. Not simultaneously of course, but with DVRs and numerous reruns of both shows, it’s easy to watch both. I watched both—but watched The Walking Dead on Sunday evening. So I imagine that I was counted as having watched TLD instead of The Bible—wrong!
By the way, for any of you in the market for a new home, houses in Woodbury are real cheap now.
Watched TWD on Sunday night and I watched “The Bible” on Monday night.
I watch both. Zombies on Sunday and Jesus during the week.
Walking Dead has ended their season.
You're missing the big disconnect, two cultures are at WAR, never to reconcile.
The Culture of Death stalks us all, The Culture of Life begs, pleads and finally screams!
Come Out of Her, You are a sacred set apart people.
King Jesus Rules!
Zombies/ Pagans are already dead.
Free Republic doesn’t like O’Reilly? He’s not good enough for us?
A Mormon wasn’t good enough for Free Republic. Romney didn’t hold his mouth quite right when he prayed to Jesus. So, now we have a muslim in the WH.
Is this site for real anymore? Is there absolutely no hope for our nation?
FRee Republic has no use for liberals. If you think BOR or Romney are conservative, maybe you’re lost.
I really have to question the intelligence of anyone who hasn’t figured that out in the length of time you’ve been here.
Actually I’m surprised at how often the bible figures in TWD. Finding a bible with an underlined warning was a key scene in the season finale. The governor should have heeded the warning.
Herschel has led the group in prayer on several occasions.
If "The Bible" was an accurate portrayal of the real thing, then there could be an honest discussion--it wasn't--edited to sell and not to tell
In that vein the Walking Dead was probably more honest--perhaps a metaphor for the Obama socialist wasteland that's developing...
Do I ever agree with YOU! BOR has his flaws, but he is a traditionalist and supports good causes. He bloviates and interrupts...but he is a decent man.
Those who are irritated with his Bible-Thumping phrase obviously did not ‘get’ it. He was absolutely correct in his statement. You cannot fight the gay marriage with the Bible. You must use reason in a court of law.
Every time this idiot puts forth an opinion I’m reminded of how glad I am I don’t allow his show in my house any longer.
He wouldn’t know the Bible from a Joel Osteen self-help manual.
Herschel has led the group in prayer on several occasions."
And the show doesn't put it across in a condescending manner, either...it's actually done quite fairly.
Following BOR is like following a general to the site of his next surrender.
I figured him out the last time a big amnesty fight rolled around. He spent months talking tough on border control only to change his mind the night before the vote and declaring it over. (he was wrong....again)
He’s like a gateway drug to liberalism.
Excellent point and you are so right and it is because of many in here that that arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave was elected in 2008 and reelected in 2012.
History Channel has been on basic cable since before there was an AMC.
The Bible has an immediately self limiting audience. Anybody that’s not a devout Christian is immediately not going to watch it because they’re just not interested. But people with certain high levels of devotion also won’t watch it, because they don’t want to see it altered, or might interpret it as craven images.
Zombie fiction doesn’t have that limitation. BOR is turning it into something it isn’t. Non-religious stories automatically have a broader base of appeal than religious stories.
For your information Bill O’Reilly never claimed to be conservative. As a matter of fact he says he is Independent and he is one of those true independents as he goes after both sides. Have you ever seen a liberal who claims to be an Independent, because he is ashamed to admit that he is a democrat. I have not
BOR is a joke and he and his followers (that is what they are) can kiss my conservative ass.
Liberals that pretend to be conservative aren’t good enough for me. I don’t care what party affiliation they have or what TV network they’re on. BOR is an idiot blowhard, and Romney is a socialist. I don’t want anything to do with either.
He really is. He did the same thing with homo marriage. He started out railing against it and then, well....he “evolved”, I guess.
I don’t understand how he gets such high ratings.
Its obvious he has not watched TWD and does not “get” it. Foolish article, this is.
The verse really got to him; it was borne out as perfect truth.
That scene, where he's walking past the cell door and then oozes backward to peer inside at the Bible, is a good one, LOL.
huh? A couple of people have said that, but we do not get it on basic, we went to the next level to include BBC (Top Gear) and it was part of the package.
I tried watching it, really bad acting, stupid plot, ridiculous sets - its 30 minutes I’ll never get back.
“I really have to question the intelligence...” What a liberal argument!
I think you are correct.
I tried looking it up but couldn’t find anything about it, still think you are correct.
Kinda like your liberal argument that FR doesn’t like Mormons.
That could have come right out of the mouth of Al Sharpton but you’re the “victimist” who spit it out.
It must be my so called hatred of Mormons that led me to post the daily Glenn Beck TV thread every day for a year.
You’re cable company is odd. History Channel has been in the basic package for as long as it’s been around. Now they have some “spinoffs”, Military History and History International, that are in the deep cable section. But regular History is basic.
