The original was better...
If we used an EMP over North Korea, would they ever notice?
I mortgaged the house and bought 2 commercial freezers and 4 large homeowner freezers, maxed out the credit cards to fill them with four years of food, and wrapped the electrical cords in aluminum foil, so I’m pretty much covered for whatever North Korea can throw at us.
Quick thinking.
Plus I duct taped the plugs into the wall outlets, in case the blast is close enough to shake the house.
Michael Maloof is simply wrong. 1 EMP weapon at high altitude over the center of the nation would not destroy the entire electrical grid.
It is much more complex than that.
Has to do with field density and other parameters. It might under ideal conditions destroy the electrical system in a 500 mile area. Possibly.
But not the entire nation.
It is a sobering prospect, but not the death knell.
Haha. Weirdly, I watched this last night. A little better than people gave it credit for.
Some people think the satellite launched into orbit could deploy such a weapon and we’d have trouble stopping it. Others don’t think the satellite is big enough to be carrying such a thing.
Whatever the case, you should be vigilante. Remember, the Chinese HAVE been probing our computer systems. Its perhaps the case that you wouldn’t need an EMP to shut our computerized world down. In the meantime though, I see Obama’s regime as a bigger threat than Kimmy’s.
Read “One Second After”
But, if there is no electricity....
I mortgaged the house and bought 2 commercial freezers and 4 large homeowner freezers, maxed out the credit cards to fill them with four years of food, and wrapped the electrical cords in aluminum foil, so Im pretty much covered for whatever North Korea can throw at us.I'm going to presume you have some large generators and 4 years worth of fuel.
Sorry to tell you, but you wasted all your time and money. Very few electronics today would be effected by an emp. It was an extremely rare event when they tested the first bombs. And now it would be even rarer.Just plain old scare tactics. No truth to it. Don’t let the enemyies of freedom distract you from the real fight happening now by wasting your valuable resources on decoy worries.
An EMP over North Korea would knock out all of their electrical systems, computers, missile commands, and probably any subs they have.
Their military structure, if I remember correctly, is much like the Soviets and Red Chinese, strict Command and Control from the top. This makes them vulnerable to an EMP even more so than it would American military commands and units who are taught to act on their own with a very well known command structure still in place and Force Mission plans spread throughout them.
Unless the No. Koreans watched “Independence Day” and “Live Free or Die Hard” (where both the telegraph/Morse code and CB radios still functioned on lower wave bands/frequencies, they would not be able to mount a well timed/coordinated attack on the US or even So. Korea (except for their forces on the DMZ who know what targets they are to hit in the first few momements of an attack.
What we need to do is what the US did in “Independence Day”, put a virus into their military computer systems to crash it upon any hostilities. Coupled with even a small EMP, their C3 system would be toast.
Then, hopefully, we would make their military and political facilities “nuclear toast”
However, with Commissar Obama, Gen. Dempsey and Secy Hagel in charge of our forces, I’m afraid that the No. Koreans would inflict serious casualties and damage on So. Korea, Japan and perhaps Taiwan, which would include many American losses.
We had our chances years ago to eliminate the psychostate of No. Korea but did nothing. Just like Iran today, it is probably too late to defang them.
Or, as Obama would say, “Yes we didn’t”.
And can you provide information Backing up this opinion. And ..not based on the strength of a lightning strike, but an E M P. Thx.
An EMP detonation will fry the electrical grid. Your freezers will be worthless. It doesn’t matter what you wrap your electrical cords with.
what if the blast is a bit closer, and your house is scattered to the wind in a million tiny pieces?
I agree with you.
What I was thinking about, regarding my comment, was the satellite pictures of North Korea, and the contrast between North and South, i.e. lack of visible lights.
I'm not an idiot, I was going to burn incense and chant also, I wasn't just depending on the aluminum foil.
I'm not really prepared enough to overcome that scenario yet. Suggestions?
