Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday expressed opposition to possible GOP efforts to filibuster a Senate gun-control measure, saying he did not understand the move to block debate.
I dont understand it, said McCain on CBSs Face the Nation. The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.
What are we afraid of? Why would we not want if this issue is as important as all of us think it is, why not take it to one of the worlds greatest deliberative bodies
A number of GOP lawmakers, including Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Mike Lee (Utah), Marco Rubio (Fla.), and Ted Cruz (Texas) wrote to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) vowing that they would oppose the motion to proceed to any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions.
Reid is planning to bring to the Senate floor this month legislation that would expand background checks, toughen penalties on straw purchasers of firearms and provide funding for school safety.

If, if, if...
If we had a man in the oval office, Syria and Libya wouldn’t even be in the news.
And debating socialist health care was also a great idea. Yeah. Even though our side won the debate, the crooked scumbags cheated and forced the change anyway. We need to filibuster these crooks from now until eternity.
And we also won the AGW debate and look what that got us. Truth, honesty, integrity, none of that applies anymore to DC.
Will not happen because she campaigned for him.
He would have been just as bad as Obama. They work for the same master.
Can’t we just throw his ass out of the GOP party???
The only reason I pulled the lever for this SOB in 2008 was because of his running mate.
Headline should read, “I just don’t understand the GOP grass roots demanding a filibuster!”
I think he would have been worse.
The Republican leadership would have done 100% of what he wanted to do. And in all too many instances, he’s a stunt double for Obama.
At least with Obama, they once in a while make a pretense of objecting.
When is the last time we saw a group of current Republican office holders take McCain to task for his treachery? Never is the answer. He actually gives them cover to adopt and push liberal agenda.
McCain has been and will continue to be a blight on this nation. If we only knew the full measure of the damage he has done to this nation...
“Sen. McCain: I dont understand...”
He should have stopped right there and then we could at least say he told the truth ONE TIME! Old Fool!
This one is for Terry Anderson.

Anemic hands across the aisle
Gonna send the country to its grave
Its time to let him know old Johnnys gotta go
Johnny believes Global Warming

Everybodys havin a ball
Just ask Al Gore - Johnny knows the score
S & L Man Charlie Keating
He came to Johnny one day
Said the government boys are sniffing around
How much to make em go away?
Did Johnny take a bribe to join the Keating 5?
Now fast-forward 20 years later

I just wished to hell that RINO would retire.
...... The Useful Idiot Pawns used by the Socialist Left rarely, if ever, understand anything about Conservatism and the necessity for its existence.
Aww...don’t worry mclame, you have nothing to fear from
from a Rand filibuster. Sound familiar?
Maybe even Cruz will have to campaign in AZ. for an alternative.
This should also be a warning for The establishment. You run McCain and he loses, then turn around and run Romney for an embarrassing loss with 8% unemployment. Being middle of the road mush is not what attracts voters to your cause. We need bold conservatives to win back the presidency and the Senate.
A bunch of "amish" yoots tweeting to decide where to assemble as a flash mod is more impressive.
McCain, you obviously don’t understand the labels on your medicine either! Start taking them properly - now!!
McCain never misses an opportunity to mug for the press and screw conservatives. That prick is way past his sell-by date.
I think McCain knows exactly what he is doing. He would support a national data base for gun ownership registry. Then the government will know who has what. He has done so much damage by not defending the constitution. He should just retire. Arizona, please replace him. He may turn out to be one of the most disliked republican politicians ever.
