“And I forgive Rick Warren for “forgiving” the seller, thus backhandedly casting the seller as some kind of sinner. “

Exactly. You have the right take. Everyone makes mistakes, and it is easier to do in a time of great emotional loss and stress. Rick Warren made a mistake, under great emotional loss and stress.

He probably did not even know he was doing it when he did it. We all are sinners, and we all need forgiveness.

Yep. Very good reminder. It's tough to forgive Rick for being so presumptuous and loose with his privilege as a pastor of a mega-church, but you're right, it's my duty as a Christian. Good and humbling reminder.

Sandy and Winstons, I forgive a hot stove for burning me. But I don't put my hand on it again unless I'm sure it's not hot. Warren is deserving of forgiveness, but as for confidence and trust -- that's another issue. He again promotes the left agenda on a "conservative" platform, and you still defend him. You ought to snap out of it.
