A buddy of mine works at AA headquarters and he says that they are freaking out there over a outage in the reservation system. He says that they are grounding all flights globally. They can't figure out what's wrong and suspect it may be cyber terrorism.

Wife’s southwest flight from florida just got delayed 1/2 hour but sounds routine thus far.

I am literally the last person in my airport who knows how to board and dispatch an aircraft using PAPER.
Back in the day, computer failures were EXPECTED, and planned for. But, not today. I still don’t understand the logic in that.

Air Canada had a similar problem last year. I spent a night sleeping on the floor in Toronto Pearson Airport. Not fun.

So if I have a planeload of people waiting to go someplace tell me again why I wouldn’t want to crank up the engines and take them? Can’t get lunch on board? Reservations are for the NEXT flight. We used to be able to fill up an airplane with people who walked in and actually bought a ticket. If the airline is so freeeeking bleeeped up that it can’t move a plane without a ground computer working maybe it’s time for them to just file chapt 11 and park it.?
All flights out of Kansas City are cancelled or delayed. Half the inbound flights are the same.
