Saudi national no longer ‘person of interest’ in Boston bombings, no other suspects
Foreign policy ^ | April 16, 2013 | Josh Rogin

The Saudi national injured during the bomb attacks at the Boston Marathon Monday has been cleared and is no longer even a person of interest, intelligence officials told lawmakers Tuesday.

"This was a soft target. It was not a target that was able to be totally protected," he said. "This particular incident is going to cause the administration and Congress to evaluate our overall security programs around the country, particularly for major events. We can't leave it just to the communities that host these events to provide the security."

With recent discovery of remains of “high pressure cookers” that were used as bombs, blaming the TEA party and all things conservative is sure starting to get OLD real fast!

Sorry, but I’m not sure we can “leave it to” our government to provide us with the TRUTH, either.

Re ‘baby stroller’:

Plausible, but I have yet to read a comment observing the guy in the white hat that has a white towel over his right shoulder and what appears to be a baby’s being cradled in his arm on that shoulder.

Just an observation...

Gee, didn’t Homeland Insecurity come out and say that one should be suspicious of people wearing heavy coats in warm weather?

I know people that are cold in that weather I'm just saying. My mother bundles up if it's 60 and wears gloves she is in her 70’s but she is cold until the temps hit 75. LOL

I'm fascinated with this thread!!!!!

HUNCHED guy leans over to manipulate the object while PUFFY guy stands super close, using his body to obscure the view.

I don't think he's obscuring the view from the fellow in the red jacket who seems interested in what that hunched person is doing.

Any thoughts on the guy in the red shirt? Looks like he’s sporting an Islamic style beard to me.

Good posts. However my interest would be these three guys, hightlighted here in blue (and I don't claim to be the first to spot these three): First they are seen together and then the one in the light jacket moves over to near where the bomb must have been placed. Then the group disappear from the scene. Why did he make that move to the back of the sidewalk? He was clearly not standing in the way of anyone when he was with the group, but if he was about to drop the bag then he would not want to leave it in the middle of the sidewalk.

Yep.

In your middle photo (blue AND green outlines), the “Gray Hoodie” person is ChineseGlasses girl, since GrayHoodieSaudi has stepped away.

Notice ChineseGlasses girl’s hair is smooth, while GrayHoodieSaudi’s hair is frizzy/puffy.

Otherwise, those 2 could be confused b/c they’re both light gray.

You know, if they are NOT the bombers, and there really was a baby in that stroller, they are very close to the site of the blast, and a baby would presumably have been hurt. Now, babies being hurt usually makes the news. Small victims make good headlines, but the youngest victim I’ve heard of is the 8 year old boy who was very, very close in one picture I saw.

Do you think the Feds will pay us for all this legwork?

Under Obamatollah, they’d probably pay us to STOP TRYING to solve this bombing.

I heard briefly on FNC or the radio (sorry, don’t recall which) is that the youngest victim was 2 and the oldest 71 - only heard it once or twice - no other mention of it that I’ve heard (though I haven’t been listening/watching 24/7).

I have often wondered why terrorists don’t go after more soft targets in the US. If there was a string of bombings at malls, high school sporting events, day care centers, busy street corners, etc., it would tie this country into knots.

Here is a somewhat enhanced and zoomed closeup of your image. You can clearly see that the bent over guy is messing with something that is just about the size and shape of a small pressure cooker and covered in black. The guy in the parka (flack jacket?) is looking on with interest. If that's a baby carriage, that certainly ain't no baby.

Thanks LyinLibs, you're right. Looking back at a longer sequence of pictures, they could just as easily all be part of this much larger group

These images would have been about 90 mins before the explosions.

PS This all done with best of intentions, but enough of this for today!

Good work and analysis!

The lady in green (looks very young - almost like a teen) is in your picture in post #58 - guy w stroller and puffy coast is in that one but not the one in #73.

With your eagle eye you’ve probably already noticed this - The blonde guy in the yellow long-sleeved T-shirt and the dark-haired woman in front of him w sunglasses and a purplish shirt are in both pictures (lower right) - about the same location.
Look behind this guy in the #58 picture - it looks like the stroller (it’s the same location as the stroller in post #73, but different angle).

Any idea the time difference between the 2 pictures?
