BOSTON (AP) -- In what could be major break in the Boston Marathon case, investigators are on the hunt for a man seen in a department store surveillance video dropping off a bag at the site of the bombings, a local politician said Wednesday.
Separately, a law enforcement official confirmed that authorities have found an image of a potential suspect but don't know his name.
The development - less than 48 hours after the attack, which left three people dead and more than 170 wounded - marked a possible turning point in a case that has investigators analyzing photos and videos frame by frame for clues to who carried out the twin bombings and why.
City Council President Stephen Murphy, who said he was briefed by Boston police, said investigators saw the image on surveillance footage they got from a department store near the finish line and matched the findings with witness descriptions of someone leaving the scene.

If you had video, release the damn image if you don’t have a name! When has an image not been released to the press when the person is not known? You release the image to get the name and leads quickly.
If he was a honky, we’d be sure to know by now.

I am getting nervous they may be white. Watching hannity right now, he has seen the pictures of the two suspects and seems to be taking a very non-descriptive tone. It all has me pretty confused.
Why not just show the pics?

He’s getting ready to drop it in the 2nd photo. He could be long gone by now. Guy in blue is his lookout.
That’s easy, because the FBI doesn’t want to tip these guys off that they are on to them..if they are shown on TV or even described, they will flee the country, if they haven’t already..this way they won’t see it coming til they are under arrest

If this is them, they’re gone.

The press has seen the photos and they haven’t released them to us. Go figger.
On his TV show. He was comparing what he saw online man with white hat in black with what the other correspondent saw in the police photos. They agreed they both saw photos of the same man. I also think “blue jumpsuit” was mentioned for the other guy. So, the one in blue may possibly be the partner.
