In a letter confiscated in the raid, written by bin Laden and addressed to his “Chief of Staff” Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, bin Laden mentions his desire that Hamza would be educated in Qatar as a religious scholar so that he could “refute the wrong and the suspicions raised around Jihad.”

The same letter revealed that Hamza did not escape the raid because he was not even present in Abbottabad.

Mesta, how sure are you on this? I know nothing about facial recognition and initially didn’t think there was anything to this story because they didn’t look that alike to me. But if this is true it would explain a LOT of things.

Does Panetta have any connection to Boston? Were the National Guard folks who ran in the event in any way related to the Bin Laden assassination?

They must be able to get a quick preliminary DNA result. Didn’t Obama say right away when he made the announcement of Bin Laden’s death that it was DNA-confirmed? Am I remembering that right?

The Kerry and Obama meetings with the Saudi leader were on Tuesday. Was it Tuesday morning that they searched this guy’s apartment?
