I saw a story ID’ing them as members of the National Guard, and the packs contain radiation detectors. This pair, and another like them, were tasked with sweeping the area for nukes or dirty-bombs that would have a radio-active signature. Note they’re both holding/adjusting their ear-pieces as well. As said in another post above, this pic was taken shortly after the blasts, so any inference that these were bombs or bombers isn’t accurate.
I wonder who they were watching...the saudis or the chechens...or both?
I’ve never heard of “roughies,” but this looks to me like the basic LLBean classy casual outfit. Go to any outdoorsy event and half the men there will be dressed this way. The other half will be in jeans and sweatshirts. Exactly what an undercover guy would wear to blend in. Of course, they should take care not to wear exactly the same combination.

Nah, it’s mil/state issue for some folks. They wear this id’d crap, conus or where the hell ever. Usually, in Europe or Africom- it is an attempt at appearing folksy or official by circumstance. I have no doubt the govt knew about this beforehand and I would not be shocked if they were responsible. Those two dweebs did not plan and execute that bombing alone. Not in a million years.
As I told my 90 year old mother who came to the conclusion that this whole thing stinks, if you believe Fast and Furious and you believe what happned in Benghazi why would you not believe the govt could do the Boston bombing? Did you ever believe you would see de facto martial law with the cops dragging people out of their homes at gunpoint? Me neither.

The 2 guys in the photo havelarge full backpacks,....and it’s not because they stuffed their jackets inside. Still, this could be some plain clothes guys from down the street.
I would imagine MAYBE that these two men are a WMD survey team. Many large sporting events, Rose Parade, etc have WMD survey teams with monitoring equipment on there person looking for any chemical/radiation release. My brother-in law used to do this...the equipment is so sensitive it can detect people that have cancer and have received radiation for treatment.
I’m not big on conspiracies but the official story doesn’t add up. Why would the Boston FBI have to ask the public to help identify two terrorist they investigated for terrorism? Why would they lie and alter documents linking the Saudi student to the bombing? The rush to say the two brothers acted alone is also suspect. It’s a shame we can’t trust our government or media anymore.
