Weaponized America: Sturm, Ruger Backlog Doubles; Gun Production, Shipments Surge
ZERO HEDGE ^ | April 29, 2013 | TYLER DURDEN

Posted on 04/30/2013 7:22:17 AM PDT by SWAMPSNIPER

Whether it is due to the recent governmental attempt to enforce assorted gun controlling measures in the aftermath of the Newtown, CT shooting, or, merely driven by the same catalyst that saw a surge in gun sales four years ago, namely the presidential election, one thing is certain: America is weaponizing itself at an unheard of pace, with both Sturm, Ruger shipments and units produced surpassing 500,000 each in one quarter for the first time in history.

No such thing as a “safe area” unless you can make it safe.

Great to see Americans arming themselves but we all need access to affordable AMMO so we can go to the range and familiarize ourselves with the safe use of our weapons. In my case it would be to re-familiarize myself and aim in weapons I have not fired in a few years. I just want to make sure every round I send down range is going to count when it comes time that they count!

Liberal: 500 bullets = ARSENAL!

Conservative: 500 bullets = New gun almost broken in.

you bought ammo, rounds, cartridges.... bullets are just the projectile.

Well, I bought 500 of those things that go boooom! Reminds me of when I was in the army:

This is my rifle
This is my gun
This is for shooting
This is for fun

I checked the local Walmart; no .22 cal at all, no handgun ammunition at all, almost no long gun ammo. A couple of boxes of .410, and somewhat suprisingly, several boxes of 30-06, but almost nothing else.

They don't have a clue, they don't ever listen to us! They believe what they hear on the MSM.

Toomey remarked last week that he was amazed by the uprising against the gun legislation. His head must of been so far up his butt he was starving for air!

Huh? Larger caliber bullets won't work in your Mark III. They are either .22 cal or not.

Yeah, I know. My son has the larger caliber weapons. Mine's just a lowly 22cal. He's the one who can't get those things that go booom!

I haven’t seen 22lr in a Wisconsin WM in months, except for birdshot.

except for rim fire, I reload.

Not going to say how many primers, how much powder and bullets I have stored(not to mention buckets of lead alloy wheel weights....)...but enough for a while.

enough brass too....for like forever. the other stuff could eventually run out.

It's the larger caliber bullets that they can't get due to our government stockpiling.

Psst...

Obama has been stopping or delaying the importation of ammo for months. It is here, one the docks, in containers. They won't let it in.

"I haven’t seen 22lr in a Wisconsin WM in months, except for birdshot."

A couple of weeks ago I actually saw some 22LR for sale at Large Monthly Flea Market. Remington regular 22LR was going for 20 Bucks for a box of 50 rounds. Hollow Points were going for 50 Bucks for a box of 100 Rounds.

The guy had a brick of each and he was sold out in 20 minutes.

"A friend" has some of those Remington Bucket-O-Bullets (1400 Rounds of Hollow Points) and is considering taking them to next Month's Flea Market. At those prices he would make over a 1000% profit by charging half the going rate.

A woman can use any gun a man can.
In most cases, women are better shots than men.

Most of us old sexists blame this on one Phoebe Ann Moses.
it all started when she out shot Frank Butler in a shooting contest in Cincinnati back around 1875. It’s been downhill for us since.

In 1968 no one worried about the government taking guns. It was a non-issue. Then Bobby Kennedy was killed and the world went mad!

Gun owners were blindsided then. Now, after 45 years, we know what the anti-gunners are up to and are now prepared for it.

Sure, very easy gun to use. It’s not the easiest gun to dissassemble for complete cleaning.
