The Curious Case Of Trayvon Martin’s Backpack With Stolen Jewelry and Burglary Tool
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | 01MAY13 | Sundance

Posted on 05/01/2013 5:16:20 AM PDT by DoctorBulldog

[...] It was that M-DSPD internal affairs investigation which revealed in October 2011 Trayvon Martin was searched by School Resource Officer, Darryl Dunn. The search of Trayvon Martin’s backpack turned up at least 12 pcs of ladies jewelry, and a man’s watch, in addition to a flat head screwdriver described as “a burglary tool”.

When Trayvon was questioned about who owned the jewelry and where it came from, he claimed he was just holding it for a “friend”. A “friend” he would not name.

Later, after the police report was outlined in the Robles article, and despite Trayvon being suspended for the second time in a new school year, Martin family attorney, Benjamin Crump, said Trayvon’s dad, Tracy Martin, and Trayvon’s mom, Sybrina Fulton, did not know anything about the jewelry case.

[...]

However, there was ONE big issue. SRO Dunn never filed a criminal report, nor opened a criminal investigation, surrounding the stolen jewelry. Instead, and as a result of pressure from M-DSPD Chief Hurley to avoid criminal reports for black male students, Dunn wrote up the jewelry as “found items”, and transferred them, along with the burglary tool, to the Miami-Dade Police property room where they sat on a shelf unassigned to anyone for investigation.

Excellent sleuthing and reporting from a blogger, Sundance. I recommend you read the article in its entirety.

Buti thought M rtin was such an angel. You mean he was caught with burglary tools, was a known drug user, into fight club, and hated white people. Nah he wouldn’t have tried to kill Zimmerman would he?

Hmm... Looks like Mommy is making bank off of her son’s death. Very telling.

Many years ago, when I had a daughter that died, my wife and I received a large donation from my fellow airmen who had taken up a collection for us. We donated the money to charity. Apparently, Trayvon Martin’s mother has a “me, myself, and I” mentality.

Cheers!

I wonder how much the burglary rate has decreased in the past year.

Just another example of the criminal coddling that goes on in south Florida!

Funniest paragraph in the article:

“They are using the money to continue the legacy of their son,” said Michael Hall, a graphic designer and marketing specialist who helped launch the Justice for Trayvon Martin Foundation. The parents created the nonprofit in March in response to their son’s killing. “They didn’t want a situation where people could say they were profiting off the loss of their son.”

Rightttt....if they would have focused their efforts on teaching their son to be good person... You know like getting good grades, not stealing or burglarizing, not doing drugs, etc...none of this would have ever happened.

In the hearing yesterday as soon as the testimony in court got any where near this issue, even though breached by the prosecution, the judge shut it down. I doubt that she will allow anything regarding Martin’s criminal past and adventures as a jewel thief to be entered into evidence, even though it goes a long to explain why TM appeared to be casing the joints that night and why he seemed to have his own source of income.

Apparently, Trayvon Martin’s mother has a “me, myself, and I” mentality.

Sounds like she had passed it on to her son ... no respect for the property of others - if he wanted it, he took it.

I think the bigger issue for the left is that they can’t have it become an accepted idea that others can legitimately defend themselves from black thuggery.

I’ve always wondered - The community he got shot in had alot of problems with burgulary....and Martin was caught with stolen goods. Is the stolen jewelry being held by the police somewhere, and have the Sanford residents every been able to look at it to see if its there’s?

Its a long shot...but it sounds like Martin lived in a pretty lousy neighborhood in Miami, and the middle claas complex in Sanford would have been a burgulary gold mine.

If such a connection could be made, I’d hope the judge couldn’t keep his criminal past out of this.

I haven’t been following this very closely, but apparently Zimmerman’s attorneys declined a chance at a ‘stand your ground’ hearing...and the left is having a parade over this.

I think its a smart move by Zimmerman. Going to a stand your ground hearing implies that you had the option of leaving. That conflicts with Zimmerman’s claim that he was pinned to the ground. So, it would be fairly stupid to use a stand your ground defense...and easily predictable that (despite media hyperbole) it was never a serious option.

But the left has already put this in the ‘win’ column. So you can see how this is gong to go - no information from the case will be presented to the sheeple in a factual and non-emotional way. It will all be shaped.

So....when Zimmerman doesn’t get convicted of 2nd degee murder (and its certain he won’t), get ready for the riots. They could be nationwide, if Barry gets behind the movement.
