Former Gov. Richardson on Sen. Cruz: 'I don't think he should be defined as an Hispanic'
American Thinker ^ | 05/06/2013 | Rick Moran

Posted on 05/06/2013 6:42:53 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson has taken it upon himself to re-define an entire ethnic group.

Speaking on an ABC News web chat following his appearance on "This Week," Richardson revealed a bigotry so deep and profound that it makes right wing anti-Hispanic loons look reasonable by comparison.

And yes, Richardson is Hispanic himself. It doesn't matter. Bigotry is bigotry wherever it rears its head. And in that interview, Richardson took bigotry out of the closet and paraded it in front of anyone watching.

From Brietbart:

"I'm not a fan. I know [Ted Cruz is] sort of the Republican latest flavor. He's articulate. He seems to be charismatic, but I don't like his politics. I think he introduces a measure of incivility in the political process. Insulting people is not the way to go. But I guess he's a force in the Republican political system, but I'm not a fan."

ABC News: Do you think he represents most Hispanics with his politics?

"No, no. He's anti-immigration. Almost every Hispanic in the country wants to see immigration reform. No, I don't think he should be defined as a Hispanic. He's a politician from Texas. A conservative state. And I respect Texas' choice. But what I don't like is... when you try to get things done, it's okay to be strong and state your views, your ideology. But I've seen him demean the office, be rude to other senators, not be part of, I think, the civility that is really needed in Washington."

What exactly is Richardson saying?

Yet another reason I am sick to f’ing death with “Hispanic’’ bs. If you’re going to identify yourself as a ‘’Hispanic’’ I don’t care if you’re Democrat or Republican, to me you are not an American. If you really think ‘’Hispanic’’ is a race then you’re too stupid to understand that there is a land called “The United States of America’’ because there sure as Hell isn’t a land called ‘’Hispanic’’.

Bill Richardson is a crook and a liar and only escaped a federal indictment because another crook and liar (Holder) was AG. Now tell me again why anyone should care what he has to say about anything?

"Why of course! Cruz isn’t a hispanic, Clarence Thomas isn’t black and Sarah Palin isn’t a woman. Because minority status depends on political views, not background, skin color, or body parts."

Excellent way to put it cotton1706!

Geeeze, I thought Senator Cruz was an American.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Bill Richardson and the racist liberals continue to subvert the dream of Martin Luther King to this day. A pox on all their houses.

“Former Gov. Richardson on Sen. Cruz: ‘I don’t think he should be defined as an Hispanic’”

Said Bill “Richardson”.

Hey Bill, do you mean Cruz is a “House Hispanic”? or an “Uncle Tomas”?

LOL! The govt. slapped the “Hispanic” label on a former colleague because he came to the U.S. from Uruguay. His family originally immigrated from Italy to Uruguay when he was a boy. He's furious over his recently acquired ethnicity. “I'm Italian! There's not a drop of Hispanic blood in me!”

“There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism... a hyphenated American is not an American at all. This is just as true of the man who puts “native” before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen.

Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance. But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as any one else.

The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic.

The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country.

The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American. There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American.

The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else. For an American citizen to vote as a German-American, an Irish-American, or an English-American, is to be a traitor to American institutions; and those hyphenated Americans who terrorize American politicians by threats of the foreign vote are engaged in treason to the American Republic”

Bullsh!t. ‘’Hispanic ‘’was a term Richard Nixon came up with. People native to Mexico are not Spaniards and Spaniards don’t consider themselves ‘’Hispanic’’. All of the people from Mexico, Central and South America never referred to themselves as ‘’Hispanic’’. They referred to themselves as ‘’Mexicans’’ or Colombian’’. “Hispanic’’ is used as a wedge to make sure a certain group of people who speak Spanish are identified as something else first, a ‘’distinct ethnic community’’ and an American as an after thought and I’m fed up with it. We have one language, English. It is the language our founding documents are written it, it’s the language spoken in the wars we have fought to keep our land free and to bring freedom to others and we have one flag— The Stars and Stripes. If this isn’t good enough for “”Hispanics’’ or any other ‘’distinct ethnic community’’ then find another country. We’re a sovereign damn it, not a bloody boarding house.

What are you Dems afraid of BR? That they all might vote for Cruz and get a Republican president elected? Does the reality that any Hispanics are turning conservative and would vote for a Hispanic president terrify you after you lready granted amnesty to 800K last year and be plans for more?

Richardson welcomed the the Texas demwits who ran off from the redistricting hoopla a few years ago. He aided and abetted them not doing their jobs and wasting millions and millions of tax dollars. He’s nothing but scum.

What are you Dems afraid of BR? That they all might vote for Cruz and get a Republican president elected? Does the reality that any Hispanics are turning conservative and would vote for a Hispanic president terrify you after you already granted amnesty to 800K last year and have plans for evenmore? Worse yet (for the Dems), do you realize how many white people would gladly vote for Cruz because of the content if his character and not his race AND to rid us of the Marxist Kenyan at the same time. Yeah we know why the Dems are making such a fuss over Cruz...they’re deathly afraid of him.

Well, Bill, to tell... the truth--

I don't think you should be defined... as an American.

Well, Bendy, here in Spain, they don't define Bill... as a Spaniard either.

And, Bend, he sure ain't defined... as a Texan!

Oy Vey! Don't even think of defining him... as either Jewish or Yogurtish!

I can say without any doubt, Bill Richardson is NOT defined... as Blackfaced!

Bend? Bend? Don't ever make the mistake of defining Bill Richardson... as Star Warish!

Bendypoo! When Bill had his cute little beard, I defined him... as semi-gayish--

I tell ya, Bend, I define Bill Richardson... as a true friend of mine!

I rest... my case, Jim--
