Huckabee: Benghazi will drive Obama from office

By MACKENZIE WEINGER | 5/6/13 2:50 PM EDT

Mike Huckabee on Monday predicted that President Barack Obama won’t finish out his second term in light of the “cover-up” of the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and the former Arkansas governor called the affair “more serious than Watergate.” “I believe that before it’s all over, this president will not fill out his full term. I know that puts me on a limb,” the former Arkansas governor said on “The Mike Huckabee Show.” “But this is not minor. It wasn’t minor when Richard Nixon lied to the American people and worked with those in his administration to cover-up what really happened in Watergate. But, I remind you — as bad as Watergate was, because it broke the trust between the president and the people, no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did in fact die.”

Huckabee, however, said his predication about Obama “will not happen” if the Democrats seize control of the House and retain control of the Senate next year.

“If they’re able to get control of the House and maintain the Senate, this will not happen because they won’t let it happen,” Huckabee said.

“And they won’t let it happen not because they’re protecting just the president, they’re trying to protect their entire political party. If they try to protect the president and their party, and do so at the expense of the truth, their president and their party will go down. Now, here’s what I’m going to suggest will happen — as the information and facts begin to come out, it will become so obvious that there was a concerted and very, very deliberate attempt to mislead this country and its people to lie to Congress, as well as to you.”

And as the truth about the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi emerges, Huckabee said, “they will have lost the right to govern.”

“The highest levels of people in the United States government all the way up to the president knew that what they did tell us was not true,” he said. “And they continued to tell it throughout an election season and beyond, and they’ve tried to change the subject. And when the facts come out, they will not be able to stand. They will have lost the right to govern.”

What happened with Benghazi is not a “political issue” — “this goes all the way to the heart of the integrity of the United States government,” Huckabee said.

“When a president lies to the American people and is part of a cover-up, he cannot continue to govern,” Huckabee said. “And as the facts come out, I think we’re going to see something startling. And before it’s over, I don’t think this president will finish his term unless somehow they can delay it in Congress past the next three and a half years.”

When the NY Times runs the hearings on the front page, and MSNBC runs it as their “lede,” I’ll believe it.

Clinton was demonstrably guilty of perjury, and there was credible evidence that he was guilty of forcible rape. It wasn't enough to remove a Dem president.

Congress WILL NOT start impeachment hearings, regardless of evidence. The cities would BURN, and everybody knows it.

The more grief this causes him, the better. Hopefully at a minimum this means the Republicans can grab a solid majority in the Senate and boost it’s majority in the House. That will further weaken Zero and give the country a fighting chance.

I’m predicting to media will hoist some social media rich (this is key) story Wednesday. Likely with video, maybe violent and possibly provocative...and they will run out the clock on that coverage with endless concerned commentary from lawmakers and endless punditry by commentators.

Call me crazy. Does the media have any credibility left to risk?

One thing to remember about Huckabee is that he became governor of Arkansas because he was lieutenant governor when Governor Jim Guy Tucker was removed from office due to a felony conviction. So, Huckabee has seen the removal of the highest executive official of a state government. Yes, the presidency is different, but remember Huckabee’s perspective.

No, Huckabee jumped in front of a massive train and rode it. Don’t get me wrong, he did a good job on that, and I supported it, but he was more on top of that wave than he was pushing it. Especially among the libertarian crowd, who were there in large numbers and they were there to protest government thugs denying buidling permits and so on because of what a CEO said his personal beliefs were.

I agree with everything Huckabee said about the integrity of the government and that this is absolutely an impeachable offense.

However... the only way impeachment will occur is if Obama’s puppet masters (who also exert undue control over the Democrat party and the mainstream media) conclude that his usefulness has outlived his term of office. If he is impeached, it will be because they want him out.

Republicans help with the cover up and will continue to hear no evil, see no evil.

If Huckabee thinks that the Democrats care if Americans died when they could have been saved he is sadly mistaken.

If Huckabee thinks that the Mainstream Press cares if Americans died when they could have been saved he is living in La La land.

The Democrats and the MSM don’t care about the lives of Americans overseas or at home. They care about power and the expansion of government as it furthers their power.

Huckabee is still under the illusion that the Democrat Party is still basically trying to improve the lives of everyday Americans. It is about time he becomes aware that the Democrats agenda has nothing to do with improving anything other than their grip on power.

“Go back to frying squirrels in a popcorn popper”
I tried that and it didn't work in my air popper. I switched to flying squirrels and got better results.
Having said that, Huckabee is more valuable lately as a commentator than in an elected position.

"Mike Huckabee on Monday predicted that President Barack Obama won’t finish out his second term" And the Huckster could be POTUS someday.....

Neither proposition has any likelihood of coming to pass. sorry.

Oh I thought he was the first one to come up with it??

Where did the idea originate?? Maybe just on the internet somewhere?

I thought he had announced it on his show. “Such and such day will be Chick Fil A Appreciation Day” as if he was deeming it that.

There is a VERY big difference between Watergate, and Benghazi, Nixon was a Republican, and Republicans react very differently to betrayal than Democrats. Case in point - Bill Clinton. And it will be the same with Obama.

When Republicans support a President, they want someone that they think is better than them. Someone who will do a good jobs for the country. When Democrats support a President, they want someone who will make them feel good about themselves. That is why social issues like abortion are such a benefit for Democrats, they don't want someone who makes them feel guilty about their decision to kill their baby, they want someone who is going to tell them they did the right thing.

Democrats project, they think lying is part of human nature, they lie, so having a President that lies also, is a good thing - they don't feel as bad about their lying. That is unless he makes you feel guilty about something else, then he is a holier than thou hypocrite who needs to go!

Republicans will have the same reaction when a President lies whether he is a Republican or a Democrat. Democrats will have a completely different reaction when a President lies, depending on whether or not the President is a Republican, or a Democrat.
