GOP Sen. Inhofe: Obama Could Be Impeached Over Benghazi 'Cover-Up'
The Hill ^ | 05/10/13 11:22 AM ET | Jeremy Herb

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) suggested that President Obama could be impeached over what he alleged was a White House cover-up after last year’s attack in Benghazi, Libya.

Inhofe, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in an interview Thursday with “The Rusty Humphries Show” that impeachment would become an issue soon over the “greatest cover-up in American history.”

“People may be starting to use the I-word before too long,” Inhofe said.

“The I-word meaning impeachment?” Humphries asked.

“Yeah,” Inhofe responded.

“Of all the great cover-ups in history — the Pentagon papers, Iran-Contra, Watergate, all the rest of them — this ... is going to go down as most egregious cover-up in American history,” Inhofe said.

When Humphries suggested that the Democratic-controlled Senate would not impeach the president, Inhofe said that was true. He said that Benghazi would "endure" and impeachment could come after the 2014 midterm elections, when Republicans hope to retake control of the upper chamber.

Republicans have accused the Obama administration of changing the “talking points” about last year’s attack in Benghazi for political gain in the heat of the 2012 presidential election.

Four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed in the attack on the U.S. Consulate there.

We all know the son-of-a-bitch will NEVER be convicted of anything with the current senate. But we can sure put his sorry ass in a sling for the next 4 years. Keep em bogged down with hearings until eternity.

Bingo.

Bog Obama and his gun grabbing, open borders agenda down for the next four years.

Demonstrate to as many people as possible, what a scoundrel Obama is.

Try to get the Republicans to impeach in the House. If that succeeds, make Democrats and RINOs go on record as voting against removal.

After 4 years, maybe a narrow majority elects a non Marxist in the next election.

I would agree, if I could name a statesman in the Congress.

If impeachment is called for, well sure, go ahead, but it will not accomplish anything except garner sympathy for the president and drive the limp-wristed, like Lindsey Graham, to a more cowardly position. Hasn’t hurt him much.

Thanks. I knew that but said Hendix anyway. How about “Hey Joe where you going with that gun in your hand?”.

Impeachment means nothing after the events of December 19, 1998. Bill Clinton made it into an award of sorts; he is revered worldwide. There was no balm in Gilead and no shame in impeachment. The American people can’t even define the word.

The Senate cannot impeach; only the House can. If the House impeaches, the Senate “tries” the impeachment. But the vote would be known even before the “trial”” not guilty no matter what. And the American people would cheer the verdict if they understood.

Maybe this will help too. It’s 3 hours long, but please, don’t miss it. Watch it clear through the end! Bengazi and this incident have the same signatures!

Like the Senate is really going to fire the President. No way. This will make Obama look like a hero with the Republicans picking on him. He is in it until January 2017. We need to start thinking of our nominee for 2016 and ensure he/she wins!!!!

You need the MSM. The House, the Senate, the pubic opinion follow. MSM runs the temperature of the country.

Steppenwolf hit the nail on the head with their prophetic Monster/Suicide cut

“And though the past has it’s share of injustice
Kind was the spirit in many a way
But it’s protectors and friends have been sleeping
Now it’s a monster and will not obey”

You are correct. House votes Articles of Impeachment, Senate tries.

“The war can’t be won without a battle or two so let it commence.”

Conservatives are not ready yet for battles. When I see conservatives by the hundreds flooding into schoolboards to protect their children, then they will be ready .

Conservatives must first embrace their children over mammon. I’m not seeing that yet, although there are encouraging signs on the state level.

JMO

Cheers, tractorman

This is why the Founders were so intelligent and made the Seante answer to the House Members for election or reelection. The 17th Amendment made it almost certain that a President will unlikely be found guilty.
