Democratic Senator uses Okla. tornado for anti-GOP rant over global warming
The Daily Caller ^ | Monday, May 20, 2013 | Jeff Poor

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming.

Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters.

“So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I’ll tell you why. We’re stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn’t just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas. It hits Rhode Island with floods and storms. It hits Oregon with acidified seas, it hits Montana with dying forests. So, like it or not, we’re in this together.”

They’re getting better and better. Didn’t even take them 24 hours to say global warming caused the tornado.

To #48: Re “He’s a zombie”. As Bob Hope once commented in a movie about zombies, “Oh, you mean a Democrat?”

Rhode Island produces psychos like Whitehouse like a tree produces apples. Remember Sen. Chafee? A real flake. He would embarrass a room full of mental patients.

There is no hope for Rhode Island. I have relatives there and they are so far left that they ended up in Kansas.

Where is Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys when you need a house-cleaning? (I know they were from Vermont but they could walk down the pike a bit and kick ass).

Today, Vermont is just as bad as Rhode Island and Connecticut is coming up quickly from the rear.

It takes a cold dead soul to exploit for politics the horrific death of these children ... which is to say, it takes a democrat. The democrips have been empowering their brand of communism for deacdes using the slaughter of alive unborn children. This dead soul just revealed how very demonic the party has become.

Typical DemoRat. The bodies are not even cold, and they exploit the situation for political points. Hey Rats, why don’t you shut your pieholes and do something to help the victims. It might at least some appearance that you care about the little people. No, the agenda matters more, and use anything to advance that agenda (never let a crisis go to waste?). Then again, this is resembling cult like “thinking” where everything is put in the context of some off the wall agenda, whether it is imagined racism, “global warming” or whatever it is called this week, gun owners, Bible thumpers, George W Bush, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Hey, it’s Mike Malloy time! Let’s see if he is calling the victims of this spate of tornados “grease spots” this time. Doubel up on the BP meds!

Seriously folks, prayers up for the victims and families impacted by this disaster. Lord watch over the people involved in the recovery efforts and those involved in making these people’s lives whole. Let not this noise distract us from the fact that these were real people there in Oklahoma and Kansas.

Bizzar!

I just had something happen I've only seen presented in movies thus far.

Remember True Lies with Arnold ? He's in the car with a used car salesman and you see him punch the guy out only to find it was only in his mind.?

I actually envisioned this guy with missing teeth...and the resulting red colored display of fluids.

Politicize everything then claim that your opposition is politicizing when they call you out on your idiocy... Sound familiar it is the central theme of the Change we can believe in.....

Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse’s actions were NOT only insulting but out of step with almost everyone. Avant garde dems are switching the scam to ‘global cooling’... warming thing stopped in 1998 - and the ‘climate change’ thing never worked with citizens.

Is Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse going to fly down and do a fund raiser at the cemeteries where victims will be buried?

Hmmm, tornado hits Oklahoma public school and 24 third graders die. The Rat response? Blame republicans. Why don't they start tornado-control legislation? It would be just as effective as pressure cooker-control legislation. No they'll stick with gun control legislation because if that passed things would really get dangerous and that is just what the Libtards want.

A true piece of sub-human filth.

This guy’s a maggot who needs to be stepped on. And I would volunteer the bottom of my heel.

I have hope for RI. The last election RI voted about 40% GOP in most all elections; we only need to convince 10% of the electorate to switch. It will take time as elderly “blue hair” dems are a lost cause...but the young are dismayed.
