On Tuesday, KY Sen. Rand Paul launched a spirited defense of Apple, whose tax strategies were subject to a hearing of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. "I frankly think the committee should apologize to Apple," Paul said. Paul went on to accuse the committee of "bullying" one of America's greatest companies, prompting Sen. John McCain to quickly defend the inquiry and say that Paul's remarks were "frankly, offensive."

I’m not an Apple person, but Rand is right. To paraphrase him, Congress needs to be talking to a mirror to discuss what is wrong.

McCain is a national disgrace.

The longer he remains on the public stage, the more he’s going to destroy himself.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving troll.

Sen. John McCain continues to demonstrate why he should have retired. He likes to jump on the bandwagon to support popular and common attacks on free enterprise. He, and others, have no time to read bills or do intelligent, common sense research.

It is true that Apple accounts for 2.5% of the entire tax revenue for the USA? Is Apple already paying $16 million a day in taxes?

Senator Rand Paul is absolutely correct! Why is the "fair share" a moving target, and always increasing? Why do not the Senators explain in plain English their understanding of the current tax code? The very tax code they put into law in order to make sure all are paying their "fair share."

I fimd john mccain frankly offensive and embarrassing. Wonder how he’d like to have seen his late father-in-law dragged in there...OR MAYBE HIS NUTTY WIFE.

I personally do not believe he was tortured in “NaM”. The damage to his upper body could, and more likely, have been caused by a faulty ejection seat in his aircraft when he was shot down.
His father was in charge of the armada off shore at that time. “johnnie” was too valuable of a catch to torture! The medical care from the enemy was crude and no attempt to operated on him to correct “Harness damage” was done.

I agree with you. Further than that, I believe he deliberately let himself be shot down to sit out the war. He hated the military.

Yes, Apple should pay their taxes like any company should do. Doesn’t Cindy McCain have her family fortune in some type of trust to avoid paying-> taxes. He can call out Apple though his wife benefits from tax law loopholes that government allowed to be there. McCain is pretending to be fair when he enjoys those loopholes himself. McCain is crashing and burning. He will end up being one of the most hated (for his betrayal of conservatism) republicans ever following Lindsey, Jeff Flake then naive Rubio.

I have not been following the Apple story, but it’s very simple. Either they illegally evaded federal taxes, which is a crime, or they legally avoided federal taxes, which is their fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders and their moral responsibility to Americans. In the second and much more likely case, it’s the fault of Congress for writing such stupid and intricate laws.

McCain was senile twenty years ago.

McCain was responsible for the USS Forestal fire that killed his fellow Navy airmen, and it was covered up. He was likely drunk when he was shot down over Hanoi. He is a mental midget who barely made it out of Annapolis, and would have been failed or court martialed countless times were it not for his Daddy the Admiral. He is a bastard and a traitor to America and I do NOT thank him for his "service" to our nation, since the majority of his life has been spent in service to Progressive treachery to destroy this nation. Damn him to hell.
