I forget who said it recently but a good point was made that in the past nonconformity was symbolic of youthful rebellion but this generation is nothing but conformists. They just don't realize it. I know this isn’t the point, but when did schools start putting “cutest couple” as a feature in the yearbook? There was no such thing in mine, my husband’s nor any of our children’s HS yearbooks. Do they still have a “Most Likely To Succeed” kind of thing? Or is that passe?
