See no scandal, report no scandal. Jill Abramson, Executive Editor of the New York Times, came down to DC on Sunday to defend President Obama on the scandals and the economy, stressing the leaks cases is the only supposed scandal she cares about as she contended Im just not sure the leaks cases, IRS and Benghazi come together and create, you know -- quote, unquote -- an atmosphere of scandal.
An atmosphere the New York Times is working to prevent.
Asked by Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer about how nobody seems to know anything in the administration, so the scandals may go beyond just the leaks prosecutions involving journalists, Abramson hit back: Im not sure how much any of these particular issues has absorbed the American public who I think are hoping against hope that the economy is at last showing some strength and maybe giving the President some credit for the fact that there are some hopeful signs.
Schieffer responded: You wouldnt say that you think its not something we ought to be concerned about?
Abramson skipped IRS and Benghazi as she affirmed how clearly Im very concerned about the leak cases, explaining thats why I came here to talk to you this morning, but insisted: Im just not sure, you know, they come together and create, you know -- quote, unquote -- an atmosphere of scandal.
Washington Post veteran Bob Woodward agreed: No, thats absolutely true. But we need facts. We need evidence...
Not that anyone was, but dont count on all the news thats fit to print New York Times to change its tune and aggressively pursue the IRS or Benghazi, scandals in which it does not have a personal stake.
From the Sunday, June 2 Face the Nation:
BOB SCHIEFFER: Its also about nobody seems to know anything. Officials at the White House didnt know about the IRS and the troubles they were having. Who knows who knew what was going on in Benghazi when they were trying to draw up these things. And then we get to this leak investigation. It seems to me this might go beyond the Justice Department.
JILL ABRAMSON: Its very easy to lump all of these issues together. I know that they absorb journalists inside of Washington. But Im not sure how much any of these particular issues has absorbed the American public who I think are hoping against hope that the economy is at last showing some strength and maybe giving the President some credit for the fact that there are some hopeful signs and who are concerned about things like the continued soaring costs of health care, which the Times had on the front page today.
SCHIEFFER: But you dont, you wouldnt say that you think its not something we ought to be concerned about?
ABRAMSON: No, I mean, clearly Im very concerned about the leak cases, which is why I came here to talk to you this morning. But Im just not sure, you know, they come together and create, you know -- quote, unquote -- an atmosphere of scandal.
BOB WOODWARD: No, thats absolutely true. But we need facts. We need evidence...
As for the New York Times' focus on concerns about health care costs, maybe more Americans would be giving the President some credit on the economy if he werent suppressing it with ObamaCare, a massive new regulatory nightmare that the New York Times supports.
Jill Abramson has the appearance of a simpering, simpleton of a sycophant.
You can't swing a dead cat these days without hitting some liberal media Obama suck-up cautioning the Republicans to not "overplay their hand" concerning the various scandals now plaguing the White House.

NONE of the major MSM “news”papers discusses ANY of the
scandals.
NONE.
Yup, the NYT editor says it, and it must be true.
Journalism...what you do when you’re too untalented even for bottom-dwelling politics and have been rejected by the NEA for low IQ.
As I recall, the TIMES took a different approach to reporting on Abu Grab and Sandra Fluke. The TIMES is an advocacy group for the hard left.
What you have here is a state controlled media run by useful idiots.
Nine months from now when Obamacare has kicked-in the economic numbers will be cratering so fast no amount of tweaking or spin will be able to cover them.
If a Republican President had done 1/100 of the crimes this Obama has done the media would have the Republican President’s head on a pike by now.
So the economy is improving?
135,000 new jobs this month.
1.8 million graduate from college this month.
4 million plus kids turn 18 this year.
Those numbers are all you have to look at to see that we are in real trouble, and the NYT is a worthless propaganda rag.
They are still carrying the water for the impostor.
This is a surprise? She's been a reliable and active Marxist media shill for many years. She's one of the worst and most powerful.
TNYT is a scandal.

Good ol’ New York Times: defender extraordinaire of Democrat malfeasance everywhere. Pity the poor Republican who does something even a tiny bit as bad Obama. Oh, yeah. That’s right, Nixon. Nixon, the choir boy compared to Obama’s total fascist hijacking and perversion of the entire Federal apparatus.
if the economy is showing any improvement now, or in the future, it will be in spite of Obama and his policies, not because of them - and that’s a fact!!
Tagline
....the way it would if there was a Republican in the White House.
Tagline?
Improving economy? In what universe????
If there was a Republican in the White Hut, he’d be out of there like a flash!
