Interesting this happened after the Prime Minister threatened to “cut the source of terror off at the knees” [paraphrased], or did he say “burn the source of terror”.
I would like to think and hope that a bunch of influential Lords got together to smoke their pipes and cigars and sniff their Brandy with the host declaring .... “Gentlemen, we know what needs to be done” ....
The British used to be really good at reprisals and punitive military expeditions. Pull some of the Oranges up from Ulster and give them a free pass.

I have been doing some frantic research on Newport and it's city council. Very hard to get figures, although there are elaborate websites about this body. 37 Labour members and 10 Conservatives. Majid Rahman (Labour) was born in Wales. His district is styled Victoria ( That noble lady is turning in her grave). I learn that this section has about a 7,000 population and consists of largely Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Kurdish descendants.
I remember Newport from the postwar years. The Welsh people whose ancestors, had long struggled against English domination, accused England of chicanery. They wanted to define their Welsh heritage and changed the county name to the old thousand year Welsh name of Gwent. It had been called "Monmouthshire". Previously references were being made that it belonged to England. The fiery patriotic songs rang out, about the triumph against English arms hundreds of years ago.
Alas, they appear to have been infiltrated from within.
This is nothing but an attempt at sympathy. No one was hurt. Not one child or adult. No one. The child card is like the race card with these savages.
I seem to remember some children being held hostage by those peaceful friggin Muslims though.....

My post was in reply to the post about a gentleman being visited by police because of his selling t-shirts. The wording was to the effect that people who cannot abide by local customs should leave the country. A councillor had the man visited and threatened by the noble ‘eroes of the local constabulary.

That wasn’t a hate crime. It was a simple case of self-defense.
It’s “interesting” how when the muzzies burn and destroy property, or cut off some soldier’s head, it’s NEVER described as a hate crime....
