Right. As I said in my posting, he still subscribes to the policies of the Left, which negates any respect or gratitude I can extend to him.
If he came out and said “I was wrong. I believed all these things that the left believes, but I have come to see how corrosive and destructive they are...” I would be right by his side.
It is why I view Whittaker Chambers as one of the most important people in the 20th Century (See my freep page) because he was an acolyte of one of the most bloodthirsty, repressive, brutal ideologies of all time, and managed to see the light. His book “Witness” is one of the top two most influential books in my adult life.
